I am a hearing aid wearer and can understand some things and sometimes not, but mostly not like that, because the quality is usually very poor in voice chat, and then there is the overall sound in OTG and if there is a lot of background noise then it becomes even more difficult for me to understand.
Yes, some people say you should just join the discord voice chat party for better quality maybe, but it would generally be great if you could add a text chat in the future and unfortunately my friends don't play OTG and I rely on communicating with players all over the world in OTG.
Helldivers 2 has great text chat function and works great.

that's a very good idea i wonder if the visual audio cues like fortnite does helps deaf people or not? i don't know anyone that is deaf so idk if deaf people use it or not

I back any accessibility ideas 100%, and having all this native in game is just better. Depending on your setup using Discord while playing can often be a huge PIA.

I've never played Fortnite but I'd also be interested to see if it helps for deaf people. I used to have old friends who were deaf, but that was because there wasn't a competitive gaming scene yet and I'm talking about the 2000s era. But deaf people also like to play games.

It would be possible to have a voice chat with me, but I have to say that I wear hearing aids and sometimes there would be misunderstandings. But as a text chat it would generally be a great advantage for deaf people

Non-negotiable, it would make great moments for clipping and in general gameplay would be more immersive.

I was asking for my own curiosity the team goes through feedback in here and will look into it hopefully they can do something like that to help deaf people
