On Xbox, but I remember when matchmaking was console-only too. Friends would praise the game, thank me for introducing it to them, and say "just one more round" before calling it night.
People I got to know through the game would be hyped and talk about starting clans and competing in Ranked when it launched. They’d literally talk about making this game their main game.
Then forced crossplay dropped and people just lost interest within a couple of days.
About a week later the controller settings update dropped with the strongest aim-assist the game has ever got. No doubt devs were trying to stop the bleeding. Nerfed literally two days later (that’s how fast devs respond when PC players complain).
I ended up staying with the game because I genuinely thought this game was the one with the most potential since PUBG, whereas most of my friends left.
The game has never been the same and it won’t be the same until forced crossplay is removed.
