Right now there is not enough options to find balance so nerf culture has to ruin half or more of the options to make other things viable then those playstyles meet conflicts that get demonised which leads to harder nerfs.

Balance through development over refining existing layers is better imo but both are needed.

Core playerbase cooks the small flow of players trickling in, once they are comfortable with the game enough to market it and bloat the playerbase it should help with that but right now no point scaling the playerbase too fast until development further down the line.

Right now I am interested they are thinking about community asset creation and/or reskinning existing assets. this would be huge as long as its not free to do it.

The reason why the game is the way it is, they kept adding stuff before fixing or balancing the stuff that was already there. After a healthy balance is achieved a new piece of gear would be added and tweaked to fall in line with everything else vs now where everything would essentially need to be reviewed for balance
