So, i made an alliance with a country because it was benefitial for me, but without any marriage just because good relationships, but once the ruler of that country dies, i think the alliance has to break and try to see if they are disposed to do another alliance in some months or they just want to act like a rival or smthing, i just lost a throne casus belli cause the alliance just keeps going on

Fair enough. That would add a touch of realism to certain situations, as not every ruler will continue their predecessor’s policies. Some might be more belligerent and choose the path of aggressive expansion, rather than regional stability and strategically insignificant alliances.
I agree with the point you raised in this post, but why you yourself haven’t broken off the alliance with them remains the greatest mystery of humanity to me.

the thing is once the ruler died, i got instantly the casus belli of 4 years, but if the time keeps going on and you pass some days, once u want to broke the alliance you will have a treaty to not attack them for the exact moment u have broken the alliance plus 4 years, making the casus belli i got the some days before useless
