I read on the official forums, the solution for the issue of too many nobles to marry manually, was instead of introducing an real automatic feature to let the nobles marry automatically was to totally remove the entire feature, making the entire character system totally useless.
Stop with the laziness Paradox Tinto, many of us pay the price for the deluxe edition, don’t spit in our mouths with those fast “hotfixes” .
The removal of the entire marriage feature is very wrong!!!!!!

While waiting for a real solution I would rather have the freedom to marry everyone but to refrain from doing so that being prevented from doing it at all
Hard disagree.
The number of characters you can manually marry off should be sharply limited, so that the number of courtiers you have remains sharply limited, forcing you to make more difficult choices about who to appoint to roles.
I like this new design better than the old one that let us breed our way into thousands and thousands of characters.
dude they couldnt even hire like 5 qa guys to actually playtest the game before shipping
these arent larian or sandfall or even embark
This is paradox. This is what they do. this is how they do it
@cobalt halo you misunderstood my post.
The problem is they choose to solve a problem not by actually solving it but by removing the system that cause the problem.
Let s say an fictional person has a dissease on an organ, that disease could be cure by surgery, but the surgeo is lazy and he choose to remove the entire organ.
This is what paradox choose to do with this all character system
just come back in a year the game will be decent then i recon
i would def not play it until the first dlc at least
i think theyve postponed it to q2 next year or some such
You’re misinterpreting it. The design was as they changed it. You were never supposed to be able to manually marry outside of direct family. It was actually a bug that you could do so.
It’s not lazy, it’s them fixing the bug and having it work as they originally intended
They didn’t postpone it. Someone said on forums but they misinterpreted what they read
Anyways this isn’t CK3. I want them to add automatic marriage for direct family for sure, but I never wanna have to deal with other marriages
@zealous gull they tease the entire character system, they tease the various dynasties, you misinterpreted, they design for you to have many nobles, who form dynasties, for you as player to choose characters for your cabinet members.
The issues are:
- bad optimization regarding the number of characters.
- bad decision to let the player marry nobles who are not from royal family, those nobles need to exist but they need to marry automatically.
I didn’t misinterpret, I listened to the head developer.
They should add automation to direct family members, I can agree there.
@zealous gull i read that post, but doesn t mean the solution is to completely remove the marriage system
It didn’t? You can marry your ruler, heirs, grandchildren, etc
Again it didn’t “remove” a system. It fixed a bug that allowed you to use the system in a manner that wasn’t intended
@zealous gull in your game, the random nobles who are not from your family, still marry?
I don’t really spend a lot of time checking random nobles. I have enough cabinet members
The guys on the forum say, they didn t marry and entire dynasties died
This is an issue
My argument there is it’s not CK3 and specific dynasties that aren’t your own affects the game in what way?
Then why implement a character system?
Just because you add a system doesn’t mean it needs to go in depth as much as possible. Why does game not track a specific piece of wood that’s chopped down and what boat it was eventually manufactured into?
I explain how the best i can, it seems you don t understand it, i put two links which i hope they explain you why it is an issue to totally remove the nobles marriage
Omg can they implement this please?
I want to know what ship Trevor was used in!
No I just don’t value it. I don’t care if dynasties die
It matter when your genius heir is stuck in another court and dont marry... 😉
Yeah that’s a separate issue lol
He's lost in some african shithole, waiting to die, doin nothing! 😅 we should at least get a option to bring them back home.
Wait a second, could this be related to the bug that shoves the entire court of someone you conquer into your own court? So there are so too many adult males in your country for the automation to want to bother marrying more
Conquering someone doesn't remove the nobles (as the pops still exist) so it makes sense they appear in your court.
