#VASSALS/FIEFDOMS ARE NOT ASSIMILATING CULTURE

Oh it started with the off the rails guy
there's like 10-20 other people that reported it as duplicate or so
He got banned for saying everyone deserves to be fired there lol
Thank you.
this the og post of it tho
The game hasn't even been out for 2 months, to me - they have earned my trust as a developer to fix issues. I'm sure that they will get it back within the expected parameters. Just because it might be our top priority doesn't make it theirs - but I hope it gets resolved soon.
Sorry dude, you just triggered me when you took a crap all over the workarounds I gave you - and you called me a cheese player, assuming that you knew what I was doing in my campaigns.
thing is rn there's really not one ver you can play without atleast several issues and that feels really frustrating especially when they decide it#s time to release another version that fixes other bugs and creates even new bugs
no the guy said something about the lines of "if you can become a big country with a 13k location and then convert the entire country to gothic then it can't be that big of an issue"
so I called the strat of sinking trebizond ships to kill off their army a cheese strat
And releasing vassals to enforce culture across your country isn't cheese? Sinking fishing ships with a navy is military strategy.
wouldn't call it cheese since it's a normal game mechanic
sinking fishing ships is cheese strat that just abuses bad ai
I had 2 cabinet members until I had a 3rd from Renaisance techs, just like everyone else.
I didn't get more until I had taken the amount of land required to form an Empire.
So you made a lot of assumptions, incorrectly.
isnt the requirement like 10 million
New Theodoro campaign from yesterday though. Very Hard mode, it's not a "free annex" byz. Especially when you start the game with 200 levies and less than 14000 pops total. Not an empire on day 1, and still have to play smart to win wars.
i love the fact you have more pops than a brandenburg would in 1376
Harder to expand in Europe with all the Antagonism
It did take them 6 patches to fix inland exploration. Thatâs my biggest wtf so far
well if we count hofixes... we are like what 7-8 in
for this
take 3 locations and take ur 50 antagonism
Yep, and you have tons of tiny nations in Europe - making it harder to improve relations with everyone around. Much easier when itâs 20 or so larger nations.
i really hope we get back an auto tool to "improve relations with all my subjects" or "my neighbours" or "people who hate me the most". Like the eu4 macro option for diplo
i know technically is different because diplomats are a resource now, but dear god does diplo automation do an awful job
Yeah that would be a lot easier than trying to look at the antagonism map mode and figuring out who is darkest.
bro what
how did they earn your trust
by releasing unfinished game labeled as finished and struggling to fix basic stuff
or by fixing the basic stuff (actually breaking it more)
Doesn't really matter what I say - you won't agree and will likely argue, so I'm not going to rationalize it for you. It's fine that you disagree.
you are insane
Projecting and foreshadowing are literary techniq-
so a bug they caused by fixing something that wasn't really a big issue to begin with, one they could temporarily fix undoing said fix (wouldn't take long/resources) and the most voted current bug in the feedback thread channel isn't a priority? u don't see any issues there? genuine question
How do you know it isnât a priority? If this was another developer like CA, I would be highly concerned. PDX will fix these issues, of that Iâm not worried at all - until they give me a reason to start worrying. All the doom-posting and negativity is mind blowing. I know the game isnât perfect, but itâs an amazing canvas that I know they will improve upon - like they have with all of their titles (Imperator aside).
if it was priority they would fix it 4 weeks ago
You said it doesn't make it their priority, not me. Do you even read yourself? Taking into account what i said why isn't/shouldn't be a priority?, i was asking you a genuine question, idk what u r on about, try reading it again
Also how much of a priority does something need to be to just copypaste the line of code before the fix? cus that'd be more than enough for me at least while they come up with an actual fix. We are not being doomers here, at least not me, but idk why some of you think asking for a ctrl + c, ctrl + v is such a big ask in a span of three weeks
the current state is better than the previous state, at least with live, I'm getting my vassals to convert especially later into the game
the live? u mean 1.0.9?
I don't think many people are worried that they won't fix these issues over time. but I'd say it's pretty ridiculous that with each passing patch, they seem to break just as many, if not more things than they end up fixing. and this has been the case for the past several even more so than the first few. that to me, is worrying.
not that I don't love PDX and hope the best for the game and the dev team, but still. gotta recognize problems when they exist
this particular bug sparked up such an ungodly amount of controversy and arguing that I'm more entertained a this point than anything, I witnessed that poor guy get banned for crashing out so hard in real time, in the thread
if they continue on this route, it'll take years until the game's in EU4 standards of polish (not that that game had a great launch either)
Later they get less maluses, specially if u go human i think, and thats what causes them not to convert, so it makes sense had that happen too
tbh the controversy or at least what gets me mad in this thread is the people making 30 billion excuses or trying mental gymnastics like workarounds or not calling it a bug to excuse an easy to fix bug that's been around for weeks...
the fact that they haven't adressed it yet tho not so much, i just do something else in the meantime
But if you create a feedback channel, and you have a lot of people complaining over an easy to fix bug over a span of weeks and it's not anywhere near a priority then maybe you should re evaluate your priorities, or just tell us feedback is useless so i can go play ck3 for a few months until everything works
This conversation is pointless which makes this so much more fun
Actually, genuine gameplay question. How did you get your economy off the ground? I see that you annexed Stettin and smashed Wolgast, probably from the free CB, but which Pomeranian minor you get a CB on first is RNG
There is a trick for brandenburg to get a lot of money relatively quick
u need to create ur own market
u'd go from like 1.5 profit to 5+
Just in the capital, with the day 1 money?
on berlin
u need to wait a few months
u can deman d alot of money from whoever uattack, just peace out everyone seperately with war reps + ducats
Every time I consider it, I think âStettin would be betterâ and want to wait until I conquer the place first
costs like 180
once u move ur capital to berlin ur control will also get 3x better
since there is a road through half ur locations but ur capital is not connected to it (?xd)
I made a few co-belligerents in the war vs. Wolgast, took war reparations from everyone. I honestly didnât build much aside from a few RGOs.
If I continued that campaign, the goal was to take the city of Magdeburg (spelling?), and make that the capital since itâs right at the head of 2 rivers.
I wasnât aware initially that it was a confirmed bug. Once I was provided with the link, I ate crow and said thank you for the information. Iâm not arguing that itâs not a bug anymore. (And I really wasnât arguing that it wasnât a bug to begin with, I was making a hypothesis based on the information that I had at the time)
As well as providing workarounds for people in the meantime of the most efficient/effective way to assimilate until it changes.
assimilation fix today trust
i wasn't talking about you when i said that people were arguing that it wasn't a bug, there has been others in here saying some stupid shit. I appreciate the workaround, nothing of that paragraph was directed at you tho
I still stand by that the bug isnât game breaking or world ending.
(Thus there are other things Paradox should focus on like the Japanese daimyos being broken)
No it's the fact they have 3 cabinet members I believe. I feel like it's generally 3rd in priority for them
this again... do you think trade companies can be fixed by copypasting a line of code? cus that's the issue here imo, you guys keep comparing it to inland exploration and stuff, those are much much much more complex bugs tho, idk if i'm talking to the wall at this point, no one said it was game breaking, or the biggest bug in the history of mankind, but is 10 times an easier fix than the bugs people have been comparing it to in here ._.
what is? trade companies isn't a 2 minute fix, so idk what u r on about
i'm not being defensive, i just don't understand the comparison
sure, but i believe the main complaint here has never been how impactful it is, but how easy a fix it'd be and the fact that it was more impactful than the thing it was supposedly fixing
also what are you, a child? i tell you the comparison is bad and you go personal on me?
Idk how is calling me stuff instead of arguing the issue personal? Gee i wonder
U missed the part that it was more impactful than the thing it was fixing, but at this point im done here
I said going personal, not calling me names, would that be part of the issue at hand instead then?
Wjen you started talking about my stance instead of the problem at hand, google what personal is
A stupid convo apparently, cya
Nice escaping forward, it went from it wasn't personal to, it wasn't that personal, u r soft! The moment you focus on people instead of the problem at hand u mud the convo and it doesnt add anything but animosity, doesnt have to do with how soft i am, but at thid point idk why im here, dropping the discord, hope bug getd fixed byeee
uh
who did urepsond to?
it got deleted
I still don't see that there is an issue past the early game with assimilating via vassals. By 1500 all of my vassals are assimilating when I enforce culture on them. Early game it is definitely a slog. If they released the game this way, and didn't say "it's a bug", I would have assumed it was intended. By 1500 I'm able to have almost all of Anatolia & most of Balkans as Gothic culture.
I beg of you, stop typing please
don't feed more posts to this thread, any more it will become a lovecraftian horror and consume us all
You can turn off notifications.
no
I've warned you all, may the unnameable one show mercy on us all
well you see.. as a small comparison, in my byzantium game, by 1550 I had converted all of anatolia, all of the balkans up to slovenia, all of egypt, most of syria/lebanon and even a portion of iraq and sicily. there were by 1600 over 19 million greeks in the world
is that balanced or intentional? separate point. however, the bug is the fact that your vassals, for the last time, only convert to either religion or culture if they have almost no malus to it. if you went humanist in that run, that is literally why you managed to start converting culture through them, as you likely hit >100% humanism and released vassals/had enough cultural influence on top of that by that date. (released vassals inherit the rulerâs values and estate privileges. they can still wander off and eventually do their own later, but they start with yours)
again, this wouldnât be a problem if this wasnât a literal bug submitted by one of the most respected members in the OG EU community, and/or we had a way available to actually tweak the issue. we donât, because itâs one of the few AI behaviors curiously hardcoded into the gameâs engine
I accept bets
How many patches until bug will be fixed:
Over 1,5: x1.16
Under 1,5: x3.48
wel
we gto a patch
5 lines of patch notes gg
last patch before they put the beta live
it took them 5 days from last patch to change amount of needed provinces to form germany?
gracias paradox
i swear they are gooning 24/7 at paradox office
there is no other explanation
70 euro game btw
also these 5 lines were supposed to be 2 different patch notes, paradox at its peak
they've edited the notes. there were 2 or 3 changes to the post
I bet they will not fix the issue for 1.0.10 live
sadly if the previous patches are anything to go off of, they won't. it doesn't even really seem like they acknowledge the issue much or at all whenever it's brought up despite confirming it in the bug thread. if I were to guess it's just not a priority for them
i honestly don't think they understand the issue
I honestly donât think the issue is that bad.
can this PLEASE be fixed before everyone goes on christmas break, my god
real
real
maybe we need 10 more posts on forum about this, with every single one getting reply âUnfortunately it is not clear what the issue is as we could not reproduce itâ
i swear they are not playing the game themselves because like 90% of bug reports gets this copy paste ahh reply
QA absolutely does not play the game in all likelihood. They are outsourced and no reason to believe that they would just happen to be players
