As you may know, South America has Alpacas and Llamas, which is represented by the wool RGO. Meanwhile, Mesoamerica at game start doesn't have a single wool RGO (to represent a lack of wooly livestock).

I suggest to add a "Native Exchange" in the spirit of the Columbian exchange, where if the player manages to contact Andean natives, they can spawn wool RGO's in the mesoamerican region before the actual Columbian exchange happens.

Edit: I've also noticed that South America doesn't have Tobacco at the start unlike Mesoamerica, so that could be given to the other side if the "event" in my suggestion occurs.
Edit2: There's way more goods to exchange than that (Potatoes, Alum, ETC), giving even more reason to add such an event.

As far as Natives also go, it should be noted that Mississippian sites in the modern Eastern United States had access to copper which they used for jewelry and weapons. There's also documents that report the presence of cotton like fabrics in Cofitachequi and Joara in the 1500s, so it could be interesting for there to be a few textile operations present in the US.

And uniquely for your start date in the 1300s, the beginning of the Mississippian Collapse is happening in North America and the larger Mississippian states are breaking town into city states and feudal knigdoms ruled by sorcerer kings.

Cherokee within that same century leads a popular rebellion against this ruling class and overthrows them in a total coup, wiping out their nobility, and establishing a democratic federation akin to their distantly related Haudenocaunee cousins up north, setting them at odds with the many moundbuilder kingdoms around them. However, the tributary systems of the moundbuilders couldn't withstand the shocks of European disease, which is what created the political environment present at the time of English colonization.
