His X card in red stance will make the entire attack crit with no fail. Even with 0% crit rate these tentacles WILL crit

Gaunt's interaction with pickman exalt's discount on the next command card played makes all of the gaunts(conjoined or not) free to play assuming you don't play an actual command card
