Real talk thou, I really hope this silence doesnt transfer to when the game actually releases. Japanese server further got New Years art after that. And then Spring Festival art at the end of January.

Global server also didn't get announcement when the license was obtained. Japanese server did. And I'm sure Chinese players get the most updates and info.

They don't really need to give us anything. i.e. it won't affect the success of the game. Compared to indie devs who give frequent updates to build hype and spread the word about their game more, these big companies only need to launch a strategic advertisement campaign once a year and it'll be enough. Even the iconic name of the company behind the game alone will echo through the gamer world.

Just think back to how often we hear Rockstar mention GTA6 or show trailers. There's already enough hype so they can't really justify spending more money just to satisfy the fans' curiosity. In fact, your impatience is to their advantage if managed well.

Now I don't know their exact reason for not giving updates for this long but if I were in the devs shoes I wouldn't exactly feel it's urgent to show more footage. (I would think it's urgent to launch the game ASAP though).

Well nte does have a massive world with no loading screens when going into buildings so of course it would be graphically demanding. That said. The game still needs serious optimization to port it to mobile and console devices.

People were using the same thing against Arknights: Endfield, which it could theoretically release in August given their increased hype, but I doubt it because it wouldn't make their September platform in the Tokyo Game Show as meaningful if people got to play a game that had already been out for a month. Essentially, if the license expires or is close to expiration, they can just get it renewed for a timeframe that works better for them but it isn't some super long complex process that'll delay them a ton like it's made out to be by gacha gamer youtubers

Probably not for another year. The play testers and some developers said that the game was scrapped and made from the bottom up multiple times. The one at TGS was an early developed one that they had to stay up multiple nights to make it playable for the TGS

Maybe, but I don't see it happening until the 2024 applicants get any news since they already have a list of people who showed early interest in the game. At least that's how I'd do it as a dev. Or if they do open for new apps you'll have prio as an older applicant. The new wave of people is good and bad, no way to tell who's in it because they actually are passionate about the game and who's just on the hypetrain. Hypetrain playtesters typically give lower quality feedback ime

I've heard that the game had to be rebuilt from scratch a few times, so it might be awhile before we can even get to the beta tests (assuming they're using the same Vanguard pool). Also, I'm sure the PC requirements will be lowered/optimized towards the final release once they get enough data.

More than a year has passed, after all. Before the release, they should at least make a set of testers (if not vanguards) for the game, so that the game does not repeat the fate of Cyberpunk at the release, where there were so many bugs that it was impossible to complete the game without stumbling upon at least one bug.
