You don't need to install GCC if you use Visual Studio since VS already has it's on compiler pre-installed
Open the Visual Studio Installer -> Modify -> Desktop development with C++
Visual Studio uses MSVC by default
Fr?
But look at this
Show me
Visual Studio Code != Visual Studio
Visual Studio Code
Visual Studio
@nimble agate Are you on Linux or Windows?
Oh ๐
@nimble agate has reached level 1. GG!
Windows
Here is what you are looking for: https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/cpp/config-mingw
I forgot the difference ๐
I alr have that compiler installed
Thanks a lot
Great, then skip the installing part
Wait
It says download that latest compiler
Where?
The MSYS2 compiler
in the site
You can ignore that if you already have a working compiler
I have this -> mingw-w64-install.exe
(I put the admin password in but I can't find the actual file)
Ik this is the setup file
Did you install it or only downloaded the installer
Ah okay
What? Where?
huh
add it to your windows path then
how
sorry im kinda bad at all these file things
@fallow lodge ping me when u answer
i might have to go soon
at 1:51

send images its fine
@nimble agate has reached level 2. GG!
OooOoOoo whats this

thanks
Visual Studio Code == Visual Studio
Obv not
โ ?
@broken halo has reached level 2. GG!
Visual studio code is a text editor
Visual studio is an IDE
Naw youre right youre tight
Dunno if you were satire when you said that lol
@nimble agate is it working now?
Isn't an IDE the same thing as a text editor?\
nuh uh
whats the difference
text editor edits text
IDE's are text editors with more features the development
vscode has plugins for that
oh
the compiler is usually already preconfigured in a ide while it's not in vscode
you have to set it up manually
technically even a notepad is a code editor?
wouldn't call notepad a code editor
text editor?
yes
well it's not made implicitly for coding
no colorful text in notepad
no colors ๐
ok so how do i setup the compiler
i kinda forgor what this post was about
i send you a link to the official tut
ok let me watch it
btw
@fallow lodge
you are in the python server right?
