Legendary Event Question

Hi, I’m a relatively new player and was hoping some seasoned players could clarify why there’s advice going around to befriend more Pokémon ahead of the upcoming legendary event. I know the event details haven’t been released yet, but are there past events we can look at to gauge whether investing biscuits at the Triple Type Week would be worthwhile? Thanks in advance!

in previous legendary events, pokemon with the same type as the legendary got boosts so they were stronger that week (similar to skill mon boosts this week)

also, legendary pokemon's skills want teams that share their type, so the idea might be to prepare your future raikou (etc) team by catching lots of electric-types

you get incenses and mon-specific biscuits during the event so it's quite likely to catch one (reminder that the first one is bad though)

oh no, I mean the first legendary will be bad. The first legendary you catch of each species has pre-set stats that aren't very good

To be clear, they're set to decent stats. So everyone gets one that's at least usable as the game progresses.

Most people just consider anything not perfect bad though, which is why people say it's bad.

yes, the last two subskills are completely out of reach for the time being since the current level cap is 65. you'd really like to see at least a speed or a trigger in the first 3 subskills or nature and there's something like a 75% chance of that

if you could put the skills in reverse order it would be quite good 🙃

oh wow had no clue cap was 65, such an odd game design choice, do they have some sort of timeframe they raise the cap ?

not that I know of. The cap started at level 50 when the game launched 2 years ago, and they've done 3 increases since then (5 levels each). So we might see level 75 in another year or so but we don't really know

How does this event work precisely? is there like one week for each legendary or they are all three the same week and you can catch only the one that your current island at that time gives you

I don't know. I think it's just one event, and 3 weeks seems really long, but maybe 2 weeks. They might appear on all islands for the event

So I read that you can only have 1 of each species… Is this true? Or can we catch more than one of each Legendary (and only have 1 on any set team)?

Asking because I’ve seen shiny variants and don’t want to be stuck with only the regular (and no shiny option) if that’s the one I catch first. 😅

you can catch multiple of the same species (except darkrai which I guess is "mythical" instead of "legendary")

but you can only have 1 "special" (any legendary or mythiical) on a team, this means you can't pair two different legendaries together either

For those that attended last year's event, will we end up being able to catch one of each legendary through essences like we were able to for Cressalia? Or should we only expect to catch one of them?

last year when they first launched, each one had its own event. This is the first time they're combined

I would guess 3 total is feasible but maybe a bit of a stretch goal depending where you are in the game. And you should be able to choose if those 3 will be 1 of each, or 3 of one, if you're on a compatible island. But remember that the first of each will have pre-set stats, so if you want to roll stats for real you'll have to catch at least 2 of the same one

If I still have incense for Raikou/Suicune/Entei left after the event, can they still be used?

We can only keep one of each incense but yeah as long as you use the incense where it's allowed you can call the beasts back. Typically people wait until they get really high Drowsy Power and have a Shard multiplier (holidays event, Luck Incense, etc.).

Hey guys !
We're at the last day of the event, I have 160 materials left and can afford another incense for one of the beasts, I already have one for each beast so if I were to use one for today and we go past 4h am, can I still purchase one with ny remaining coins after the event has already ended ?
Or should I spend all of my material before the event ends ?
I guess the question is, is there a post event time limit to claim materials after it ends ?
