#Advice on Preparing for Entei Event

Relatively new to the game and looking for advice on how to prepare for the Entei event.

I’ve only been on Greengrass Isle since I’ve started but I’ve now maxed my area bonus for now (40%).

Should I go to Taupe Hollow for the next few weeks leading up to the Entei event/anticipated Fire Week?

What sleep rank can I expect to see for the first few weeks?

Does it make sense to just not worry about getting high drowsy power and try to level fire Pokémon using Pokémon with Sleep Exp bonus?

Should I go for two sleep sessions a day to maximize spawns for catching more fire Pokémon? The attached infographic suggests that fire Pokemon (e.g., Charmander, Growlithe, and Cyndaquil) can be caught at Basic 1 but how does that interact with the low drowsy power strategy to force certain spawns?

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, and happy hunting!

Do not go Taupe Hollow

#

Taupe Hollow is unlocked long before you are ready for it. If you don't have the adequate Helpers to aid you, it will be very disencouraging.

#

Fire Week, in spite of its name, it's not made for "use your fire helpers!", it's made for people like you, who don't have the adequate fire Helpers to aid during the Entei event.

#

My best advice is hoard your biscuits right now and try to catch as much as you can during Fire Week

#

When I was new, I went unprepared to Taupe Hollow and ended the week with a fat Great 5 and nothing to show for it, because with such a low rank, you get few spawns and a lot of the lower spawns are stuff you would be seeing in Greengrass anyway, like Geodudes

#

Don't worry too much about this next week, level up what you have, then go in during Fire Week in Greengrass (believe me you won't be losing that much going there instead of Taupe) to catch Cyndaquils especially

#

"Oh but the graphic says they can be caught at Basic 1" the graph tells you when it is unlocked, but, realistically, you won't be seeing the fire guys at a low level (except perhaps Growlithe)

Really appreciate the detailed advice. Thank you.

Is it worth it to go to at least Cyan for the next few weeks so as to not lose out on Area Bonus, since Greengrass is maxed out right now? Maybe see a few new styles while I’m there.

I figured that even if I phone it in for a few weeks right now, at least I’ll increase my Area Bonus for other islands. Maybe just focus on levelling up some core Pokémon.

Is your plan just to level up your core pokemon? Then, sure, hit up Cyan and level them up while not using your biscuits (besides bonus of course)

#

Do you still want a shot at fire pokemon before fire week? Then stay gg

#

The week after this next one is Fire Week

#

So, if I were you, I would just... chill. Do you have a Flareon, Glaceon or Magnemite?

#

Go Cyan, level up your good stuff, stock up on ingredients if you can to make some basic meals guaranteed during Fire Week, you can also use one of the aforementioned Pokemon to get a bigger pot during the first monday meal

#

Don't waste biscuits beyond the bonus (Except perhaps for the errant totodile if you happen to still need one, those are important)

#

If you can meet the requirement for the incense, maybe snatch that too

I appreciate the check. I’ll take your advice and focus on levelling core Pokémon on Cyan while stocking ingredients for the upcoming events.

Cheers!

Way late to this, but I picked Taupe this week, and am severly regretting it. I'm trying to level Char/Cyn/Flareon/Larvitar(because he's my fave)/Raikou(my highest RP). I don't get crap for ingredients, def not enough to store.

Should I be running an ingredient team during the day, or a mix of ingredient/berry? And then put Raikou in there at night for the extrra power?

@novel oak this is great advice. I’m new to the game. So for this up coming week. I want to not make meals, and save ingredients? Save my biscuits? I have a magnemite, and growlith do I do anything with them this week?
Do I need to level up my fire type I have charmnder and growlith.
Dumb question - don’t you catch all the pokemon you see when you first log in after a sleep session?

So if "this week" is still Sunday for you, then, sure, stock up. If "this week" is already fire week, use your stuff

#
  1. No. Most people don't. You can't afford to, really, unless you're putting in enormous amounts of cash into this game and even then you probably don't want to. There is no reason to
