I’m not 100% yet, but I’m actually leaning on going with the Swalot for now.
With that seed and candy boost I can get it to Lvl 5 and run it for the boosted week.

Considering that I’ve only ever caught 5 gulpins, I’ll catch all before FL 10 and probably build another one

what does double effective mean for the event? Twice as many shards? twice the frequency? Twice the level?

That Gulpin is perfect, and according to these photos you haven’t invested at all with main seeds yet. Your Swalot is still good of course (you should build both) but the Gulpin should definitely be built first IMO. I know you invested 30 level already but if you have extra shards, Gulp might be a good candidate for a candy boost honestly! And if you have some handy candy saved up, I think it would be worth cracking them - I understand if you’re tight on resources that you’d want to use the Swalot…but man that Gulpin is so beautiful Please promise you’ll raise both

It’s just that I have a sub skill seed lying around = swalot would be skill level 5 for the event thanks to SLUM

Ahh, yeah I see your dilemma more clearly now. Having an extra level or two from the SLUM would definitely make or break it - as for Swalot shard output next week. The thing about skill level 5 is, (I’m stuck there too till Christmas) is that it’s basically half the shard output of a level 7…so basically we’ll get normal a Swallot week since it’s doubled 🥲.. and yeah level 4 would be pennys in comparison. I guess your main choice is whether you want to prioritize one good week of decent Swalot output, or a suboptimal one- but risk having to wait 4+ months to build your best Swalot. Whatever you choose at least we’ll get a ton of shards from research and bonuses, and whichever you go for won’t be that much of a difference in the short or long term anyway
