evening fellas, i've been asked to drop my no-life wisdom into here for easy access. so here goes ig
and before we begin...
🔊 PSA 🔊
if you are f2p, stop going for eevees unless you really really want them. they eat main skill seeds for breakfast, subskill seeds for lunch, 80 candy to evolve as an appetizer and maybe just over 2 weeks of your time for dinner, both of the seeds being mostly locked behind premium pass.
the more f2p friendly alternatives to the most popular meta eeveelutions are wiggly for e4e and ampharos for charge strength M.
with that out the way, here's my guide to choosing eeveelutions.
Vaporeon
- Once you have a selection of higher grade ingredients (ie leeks, tails, potatoes and mushrooms, tails especially since you're pretty much only going to get it from Ingredient Magnet or Ditto) Vaporeon makes a decent eeveelution choice.
Jolteon - Extra Helpful is more useful in the late-game supposedly. Jolteon is also one of the fastest mons (I believe tied with Gengar and Raichu). I won't go into how it works, Rotee has already made a whole infographic on it. I personally don't see the point of getting it when you could have a Raichu or Arcanine.
Flareon - Increasing pot size is also something that's a bit more late-game, since people speculate that ingredients will eventually reign supreme. Either way, it pairs nicely with teams that generate lots of ingredients, and could fit comfortably in a Taupe team. The moment you have way too many ingredients a pot too small, Flareon is a decent choice.
Espeon - Charge Strength M is very easy to understand. One trigger = one very Big Number. More triggers = even more Big Number. Charge Strength M also scales with island bonus, making even Bigger Number. Probably the second best eeveelution currently.
Umbreon - Its main skill is not great for a skill mon, but as Wiki berries are currently decently rare, if you happen to have a BFS 10 Eevee with maybe SoH up or some other Help Speed subskills, you could use it in Snowdrop.
Leafeon - I'm sorry little one.
- Update: apparently, Energizing Cheer may outpace Extra Helpful. Needs more testing.
- Update update: Still nothing on Energizing Cheer. I really don't know about the utility of it. Either way it's clear that it's worse than E4E, Charge Strength M, Ing Magnet, and Cooking Power S.
Glaceon - Same as Flareon, except use in Snowdrop instead. Glaceon is also slower than Flareon, so consider that as well. However Rawst berries are also more powerful than Leppa berries. Could consider turning a BFS eevee to Glaceon too, though it gains more from skill triggers.
Sylveon - With the current energy overcharge meta, Sylveon reigns supreme as the eeveelution to get. Unless you have a good Wigglytuff, you should probably consider evolving a Sylveon ASAP. Sylveon is also faster and has a higher skill trigger rate than Wiggly.
