Weekly x1 big gift for an NPC of our choice for us to give them to raise our friendship level (for example +50 friendship pts)
Each NPC has favourite items/food etc which we can give them x3 daily (example +10 friendship pts each)
Added chats/dialogues with NPCs according to your friendship level with them
NPCs give you gifts/rewards as your friendship level goes up with them (for example Blanc might give gardening item at level 5, or furniture/clothes related to the NPC)
NPCs might randomly send you a postcard/picture of them as your friendship level goes up
More things to do with the NPCs overall! Would be fun to befriend them more and get to know them etc
Maybe a sticker album for each NPC, & we unlock stickers of the NPCs as friendship level goes up too and lore for each npc :))

Pretty baffled as to why youre getting suggestions hourly and constant Instagram comments about how almost nobody wants generative AI in the game and yet still rolling out updates that do nothing to fix it, so saying again, we do not want AI in your game. You do not need to AI generate areas already literally in your game to turn into a puzzle, they are RIGHT there and very easy to take pictures of. Right now, the PC version of Heartopia still feels like we are playing the mobile version rather than a native PC game. The controls and overall feel are still designed for touch screens instead of mouse, keyboard, and even controllers, though some players use them

I think the game really needs proper PC focused controls, including full mouse camera control, smoother WASD movement, and full key rebinding for all actions,, for example, the "F" key can only be used as tap and not hold, which feels very limiting on PC

Build mode especially needs improvement. Better camera rotation using both WASD and mouse would help a lot. It would also be great if we could place objects using just the left mouse button instead of having to click the place button on the right side of the screen. More precise object placement is also needed, since we are still locked to the 4x4x4 grid. It is confusing why walls can only be placed on the outside of that grid and not more freely and as i've mentioned before, mobile promts like tap or swipe should be replaced with proper PC promts and maybe more PC graphic option would also be nice

the game itself is funm but the PC port would feel much better if it was treated as its own platform instead of a direct mobile port while sstill keeping crossplay. improving the controls and camera behavior would make a huge difference for PC players rn, and hosnestly i prefer bilding on my ipad rather than my PC because the controls feel better there

Some issues(?) I think i have are like... some colors that are supposed to be the same in the color palette, is different between items and it's kinda frustrating, so i hope the colors can be more accurate. Currently, if we want to make a modification to a published book, it creates a new book instead of updating the existing one. As a result, I end up with several duplicate versions of the same book, with only one actually published.

There is no way to delete the other versions (only to unpublish them), and since there is a limit on the number of published books, this quickly becomes a problem.

Would it be possible to:

allow books to be permanently deleted (not just unpublished), or

allow modifications to an existing book without having to publish it as a new one?

A more pc friendly (interactive) game when it comes to the camera movement while building allow us to use WASD while on 3rd person.
Now bird watching while playing on mobile is easier to move the camera snap and use the magnifier,when it comes to pc it would be easier to use the magnifier with the mouse wheel and maybe auto focus not 100% accurate but it will help reduce the time on pc.

Suggest bot is down, here is my comprehensive review of the game.

Event currency should be easier to obtain, maybe not as easy as gold, but some more event quests to obtain event currency would be wonderful. It would also be nice to have some kind of guarantee that we'll be able to purchase it later, as the collection log suggests we should be able to obtain everything over time for free, emphasis on over time.
NO MORE GENERATIVE AI, please and thank you.
Controller compatibility, walking around in this game is a huge chore on PC.
Improved selling rates, I should not be purchasing a tank top for over 1k gold, but six fish sell for less than 900 gold. Farming has very little payback, fishing has little payback, it's all very taxing and annoying.
An ability to call NPCs during a quest to elaborate on instructions for quests.
More daily quests outside of the guild requests, since everything is unreasonably expensive. More NPC interaction, everything feels very monotone and repetitive, and maybe more NPCs in general in the town. But that would be a large update, so we can wait.
Better fish spawn rates, I feel like I travel the entire island and only get six fish.

There's more, and I had another suggestion for the building mode, but this all feels very reasonable

Justice for male players! ⚖️

I really enjoy Heartopia, but I hope the devs can take this feedback seriously.

With the My Little Pony collaboration, we’re getting 6 new outfits, and unfortunately none of them are designed for male characters. This happened before too during the total purchase rewards: male players spend the same amount as everyone else, but most of the rewards mainly fit female avatars. Over time, it starts to feel like male customization is being overlooked.

Also, when male outfits do show up, some designs lean more toward a classy or stylised vibe (like the Maestro outfit). That style is totally fine and I’m glad it exists for players who enjoy it, but some of us, especially straight male players, would also like more options that feel manly, strong, or tough, like warrior, soldier, streetwear, or hero-style costumes.

Heartopia is a game about creativity and self-expression, so it would be great if future events and rewards offered equal variety and effort for male characters too. We’re not asking for special treatment, just fair consideration.

Edit: To be clear, I’m not saying there are zero male outfits in the game. I’m simply asking for more choices, especially in paid rewards and major events, so male players can feel included as well.

Currently you have to add people just to talk to them, which is very unintuitive, and setting up coffee tables is extremely cumbersome.

1.) Please have a call pet option which makes them closer to you. Maybe a whistle animation, or a squeaky bone toy & squeaky fish toy animation to call them? They're always under my house, on my roof, or somewhere I don't know!

2.) As a PC user, please update the build mode where I can navigate simply to paint my ceiling, and such. The meters are so difficult to manage building materials despite me trying every meter. For example, why is the pool table just a decoration...
Increase the character limit per line for typing in chat.
Extend the visibility distance for chat bubbles above friends' heads.
Often I type something, but if my friend runs just a bit farther away, they can't see it. I have to run right up to them for them to notice (and of course, if they don't see my message, they won't know to open the chat window).
Allow vehicles to honk their horns.
(But limit the number of consecutive honks in a short time, and prevent long presses... to avoid noise pollution.)
I understand that player-designed clothing and furniture aren't available for sale, but could you at least allow players to gift them to friends?
(You could restrict gifting to friends who have reached a specific friendship level, to prevent people from selling their creations in real life.)

I would like to report a few issues regarding pets in the game.

Currently, pets have collision problems with structures and furniture. They often clip into objects and sometimes end up under the ground or inside structures. This can be quite inconvenient during gameplay. I am attaching a photo to better illustrate the issue.

I would also like to suggest a gameplay improvement: it would be great if players could carry their pets. For example, holding them in our arms, or having a special bag or carrier to carry baby pets with us. I think this would be a very nice and immersive addition to the game.

Controller comparability for steam users/overhaul of controls for pc users. This game was late for steam users/pc users and with that it was assumed the way the camera/controls worked would be optimized for pc/controller as some have steam deck. I can tell this is just a straight port from apple to steam. It’s clunky and building is often unbearable. Some controls/functions are even available to pc users (walking, zooming in and out in build mode with ease and without issue, and extending the fishing for more precise casts). 🎨 A Painting Station
There is one building on art street with a very unique window decor (I think some players could tell which one I'm referring to!). Just like the free workbench and stove near Massimo, perhaps it could be a painting station where players could rent a canvas (with a fraction of the buyable canvas as the fee) to paint on the spot. This could make a fun space where players can paint alongside friends. The shop can also sell more uniquely shaped frames such as round, oval, triptych, etc.

🏬 Actual Shops for Some NPCs
Please give Vanya, Naniwa, and Andrew their own shops that they could tend to in town! They'd walk from their usual spots to their shops according to a set schedule, like Albert. I think roaming NPCs (like Albert, and the other NPCs like gourmet guy and the fashion journalist) are very important to make the town more alive. We already have an extremely well-functioning map and tracking system; might as well make good use of it.

I would like to report a bug that started happening after the latest update. Actually, there are two issues that I’ve noticed and find a bit inconvenient.

First, every time I enter Home Construction Mode, the flowers return to my inventory, and I have to plant them again. I don’t think this resets their progress, but it is a bit frustrating to have to replant them repeatedly.

The second issue seems to be an actual bug. Every time I pet my cat, all interactions with it disappear, and I can no longer feed, play with, or interact with my cat in any way. To fix this, I have to change villages in order to interact with my cat again.

Improvement: Currently when in a room with a light on the ceiling, the characters break their neck to look up at it. Only can be seen by the players and not friends, but it does quickly get annoying when you are trying to look in a certain direction or item

Build mode is very difficult to control. The split screen to move the camera is fine for mobile phones, but not for PC. PLEASE PLEASE add doors WITHOUT any windows! could even be the same model as the current ones we have just no windows please. It feels illogical to place these doors in areas that normally would need some privacy like bedrooms or bathrooms

I really want to enjoy Heartopia. It has so much charm and potential, and I am trying to play it with my fiancée. However, as a fairly proficient gamer, the first two hours have been filled with so much unnecessary friction that it is hard to get to the fun parts.

Here is my breakdown of the issues I’ve encountered so far:

1. Steam & PC Optimization Issues
The game feels like a direct mobile port rather than a proper PC release.

Updates: The game demands an additional download inside the client rather than using the Steam update pipeline.
Controls: The controls feel like touch-screen emulation. For example, the Fishing minigame requires clicking and dragging the icon, which feels lazy on a mouse. It would be much better to hold 'F' and use mouse position.
Building: The building system is clearly designed for touch and is very awkward to use with a mouse and keyboard.
Navigation: You have to click "off" a window to close it, but the hitboxes are inconsistent (clicking below text often doesn’t register). Standard PC conventions, like binding ‘Escape’ to go back or close windows, are missing.

Settings Menu: Hiding the settings/exit options behind multiple in-game menus is frustrating. This should be tied to the Escape key. If my character gets stuck in someone's house (which happened to my fiancée), I need to be able to find menus.
Objective Tracking: Knowing what to do next during the tutorial is tedious. I have to constantly open the Watch -> Navigate to Memo -> Read instructions. I think it needs some clarity.
Clarity: During the furniture quest, it was not obvious that the "toaster" counted as the required furniture purchase. Better distinctiveness in objectives is needed.

3. Character Customization & Tutorial
Masculine Options: As a male player with long hair, the initial character creator made it impossible to look like a man - every option looked feminine.
Gated Features: I found out via Google that I can get a beard by going upstairs in the clothing store, but this is locked behind an extremely long-winded tutorial. Locking basic gender expression/appearance behind hours of gameplay feels arbitrary and alienating.

4. Technical Instability

Login Issues: Clicking "Login" opened my browser but failed to connect. I had to search Reddit to discover that Ad-blockers prevent the game from logging in.
Movement Bug: I encountered a bug where my character constantly ran in one direction. I had to reinstall the game twice to fix this, and it returned after a restart.
Installation Glitches: During the first reinstall, the internal updater glitched and got stuck on "unpacking."
Graphics: The V-Sync/Frame Rate settings seem bugged; the game remains locked to my monitor refresh rate regardless of what I change in the settings.

Summary
I want to love this game because it is cute and I want to play with my partner, but I have never had to fight a game this hard just to get it running properly. The current experience on PC is unintuitive and buggy.

First off $40 was dropped on one set and wasn’t enough so $60 was dropped. And $30 for the cool playism. That’s nearly $100. We don’t earn tickets and when I did earn them from the new top up it was only 2.

Having to hear that China servers already got the motorcycle for free because of their policy is understandable. American servers isn’t, $1,500 is too much and that’s a whole check and to cover rent. I get it, we will get it over time but that’s greedy. $200 would be just fine cause that’s actually easy to obtain quicker and if there’s a free check that can be spent on the top up and still spend on other important things.

I know that sounded like a complaint but I’m suggesting that you guys make it cheaper. Not everyone lives in luxury specially here, given the snow storm that’s coming up.

Heartopia is a beautiful and enjoyable game, and I truly love playing it. I would like to suggest a few ideas that could make the game more immersive, realistic, as a life simulator.

First, adding a supermarket where players can buy daily and household items such as food, cooking ingredients, snacks, soap, shampoo, and cleaning products would be fun. Allowing players to organize these items in refrigerators and cabinets.

A fully interactive cooking system would enhance gameplay. Players could prepare meals step by step by cutting, peeling, boiling, and frying food, using kitchen tools such as knives, spoons, and appliances.

Personal care features would also improve realism, such as the ability to shower properly, wash hair and body with soap shampoo, and wash clothes using washing machines and different detergents.

Adding a hospital and health system would make the game feel more realistic. If characters do not eat, sleep, or take care of themselves properly, they become tired or sick. Characters could take medicine and recover, with a balanced sleep and energy system.

I also suggest adding job opportunities to earn money, such as working in restaurants, cafés, hospitals, offices, clothing stores, or repair shops. Players could also open and manage their own business through a contract system.

Adding a school system would be amazing. Players could attend classes, study by solving math questions, writing English exercises, or doing chemistry experiments, and take breakfast lunch break.

Improve nighttime lighting and shadow behavior

I really like the game’s atmosphere, but I wanted to suggest a small improvement regarding nighttime lighting.

At the moment, nighttime still seem to be lit by a directional light similar to sunlight, which results in strong cast shadows across the environment. In real life, moonlight usually isn’t intense enough to create that kind of sharp, world-wide shadowing, so the effect can feel a bit unnatural and breaks immersion.

Instead, it might look more realistic to rely more on ambient lighting solutions at night, for example, ambient occlusion to suggest depth and form without strong directional shadows. Subtle vertex coloring or baked ambient shading could also help sell the illusion of darkness without the need for heavy real-time lighting.

If cast shadows are still needed, it could make more sense for them to come from localized light sources like street lights, lamps, etc, rather than a global “sun-like” light. I understand this could be more expensive performance-wise, so even just improved ambient occlusion at night would already be a big visual improvement.

Overall, I think this change could make nighttime scenes feel more natural and immersive without requiring major performance costs.

Another thing I feel that breaks the nighttime immersion is the singing of birds. I understand that maybe those are important for locating birds, if you're a bird watcher, but usually birds sleep at night and having them singing while walking around completely breaks the immersion, at least for me. Perhaps there is a compromise that can be made to satisfy both points.

I would like to point out that PC gamers don't have a cursor lock, making camera movement in the game very difficult. In build mode, you have to move the mouse as if you were on mobile, using different sides of the monitor to move the camera, and this is quite complicated for some people like me and most PC gamers.
My suggestion is to add a cursor lock, for example, on the ' or Ctrl key, so that we can move our cameras freely without having to constantly click to move the camera, and adjust the build mode so that we can use, for example, the right mouse button to move and the left mouse button for angles. I played the game so little because it got paired with the sudden release of a particularly hyped blocky game, but I still have a few things to say. Ignore my first suggestion.

1- Improve the desktop UI of the game greatly. Currently it feels like just a cheap Mobile port rather than a full game.
2- Improve the usage of the keyboard and mouse. Basically make everything work as intended, and also make stuff like "Press (letter) to interact with stuff" actually work
3- Improve performance. I must say the game is surprisingly well optimized in a way already, or at least is playable in a 5 year old cheap Dell laptop. Still, it would greatly benefit from some more polishing and giving users more agency in controlling what is active and what is not in terms of performance.
4- Delete pretty much all Generative AI stuff from the game. This is not coming from someone that is entirely against AI, but rather someone that values human art and expression. You have the luck of possessing a really big community with a big appetite for creating content. Use it to your advantage. Make contests, create in-game stuff that involves the playerbase into creating art and that art later being used in the game. Not only this would be good marketing since almost everything AI related currently is view poorly, but it also creates somewhat of a sense of community and connection between the developers and its community. Like it or not, that helps a lot in making a game successful in the long term.

I don't have more to say sadly. The game captivated me in the little time I played a few days ago. It's somewhat sad that it just got paired with a highly anticipated game of mine that being hytale. Once the hype or drive to play and test hytale dies I will come back to this game. I hope it thrives by then.

With the mlp collab coming out soon, there's going to be a pretty big divide and feeling of getting left out by f2p players with the lack of expedition pass opportunities for daily effort.

Serval of the puzzles has errors due to the AI that make them disorienting to look at/work on for me.
(Such as several of them having two separate doors right next to each other on the same house, the roof of one house turning into the roof of the other half way through, shadows turning into stairs, so on and so forth.) Pool/Water Tool – It would be amazing to have a pool-building option. This could open up more social activities like pool parties with friends or simply relaxing at home.

I think the priority is to remap/rework the keybinds on pc!
Mouse control is terrible; and I don't understand you can't hit the same key to close a window, like if I hit B to open my inventory, I want to hit it again to close it and not just use Escape for every single action...

What if you've already gotten all the hobby upgrade tickets from the hobby collection rewards?
and you're already DG 20+? Levelling up DG the higher you go, it gets progressively harder since the requirement also increases, therefore, you're forced to wait SEVERAL DAYS doing Daily Requests to just level up your DG.

And what's annoying is some DG level up upgrades ONLY GIVE 1 HOBBY UPGRADE TICKET???!

If the reasoning for no swimming is the fear of the player swimming away from the island for some reason, you could implement a barrier by having buoys around the ocean which are both a barrier and a marker to where the end of the swimming zone is.

Another idea I have besides a swimming system would be island travel! I think having another island that you could travel to using a boat would be an amazing edition and add more content to the base game! WatchBirds

For example, maybe you can talk to an npc near the fishing village or old sea who can take you to the island (Up to devs if they wanted to add a fare to travel), and on this new island it would be tropical, have a jungle biome, and a volcano. This would add so much more materials, foods, and decor in the game. Like for example you could get coconuts, or bananas for foods, or a new type of wood for building.

I think a new island to explore would be super sick! Smile

I have a frequent problem where my cat stays "inside" the roof of the house, and I can't interact with him. I have to wait for him to come out on his own or modify my house by temporarily removing the roof to be able to access him.

The pc controls could really yuse optimization. You ported the game to pc without changing a whole lot and it shows. Rather than clickling and holding to change perspective it would be better if we could hide the cursor and use the mouse to look around, or at least as a setting option. None of the controls can get rebinded but should be able to. I feel as if the F to interact should also interact with npc chat bubbles instead of having to click them. The F interact could also work for when you're confirming placement on furniture, and add keyboard shortcuts for rotating furniture.

Build mode pc controls for advanced build mode have a tutorial for mobile pinching to zoom, and even the panning and rotating are click and drag one side of the screen or the other. With the zoom you can use the scroll wheel too but the zooming isn't very precise. Please optimize pc controls! Also as someone else said we should be able to hold the f button for tools skills, planting etc instead of having to click and hold the interact button on the screen.
