I think when in Germany I have not really bought my train tickets super early, sometimes even the day of as I have not always planned my schedules too tight, but I am able to do that ofc if I'm travelling with someone, previous travels have been solo travelling so the schedules have not been so strict in any case, only the flights only usually lol.

I don't think I've ever had a change of trains even you could choose a route like that too, but I don't see a point of changing as the overall traveltime is so little. Unless you have a tight schedule and you need to be somewhere at certain time and the direct one you just missed and next comes in 20mins. (I have not checked the schedules yet, so I'm just talking out of assumptions.)

We can't stop you if you want to transfer tickets other way, it's just mentioned as it's safer to use official channels (aka fansale etc.) for ticket transfers anywhere.

At least here you can set the fansale ticket privately to a person and send the link wihtout putting it to a public sale. I don't know if it's possible on German fansale, but it would be weird if it was not possible.

Also the forum has listed all the shows and festivals and all places have different selling platforms (some don't have official resale options) but it's mostly just to remind to be cautious when buying tickets elsewhere than from the official and original ticket selling places. And if you do sell/buy ticket from a discord server member, we are not responsible of the end result if someone ends up scamming money with non legit tickets. (you are obviously not going to do the sale in public on the forum either, but agree on specifics in dms etc.)

Getting from Düsseldorf hbf to Oberhausen is quite quick and easy, however if there is football on that day, it will be very very full and possibly hard to get a seat. We had problems getting back same day so definitely I’d recommend getting a hotel close to the venue instead of travelling back to Düsseldorf.

Not everyone wants to check ontheir phone all the time but if you know you have agreed on a meetup at somepoint you know you shoucl be checking it sometimes

it may be hard to decide on one certain time/place beforehand, but I would suggest doing that.

Since you only use regional/low speed trains for dusseldorf > oberhausen you can easily buy your ticket on the same day or directly at the train station.

For everyone using using high speed trains (IC/ICE): Buy them es early as possible, since Deutsche Bahn uses dynamic pricing, resulting in WAY more expensive prices at the same day or a few days prior.

For instance: I paid 19€ for an ICE from Dortmund to Munich (about 600km i'd say). I bought my ticket months before.
The day before I would have paid about 200€.
