Character name: Bunny Steele / Capy Hoky

Type of Note/Remark: Wasn't told

Date of Note/Remark(cannot exceed 1 week old): 2026-01-29

Reason for the note: Metacomms

Your side of the story: I helped a friend install the game, config his hotkeys and make a character. He only wanted to follow me and watch, so i said sure. He asked me some things outside the game, mostly about the UI and hotkeys, and i answered outside the game. We did not bother anyone, gain any advantage, mess with other players, or anything of the sort. We did not talk about the round, other players, recent events, and anything that would impact anyone or anything, with one exception: When i ended up crit, he asked me out of the game how he could revive me. He did not know LOOC existed, and i did not think it would be necessary to teach him about LOOC while he's panicking trying to keep our run going. So i guided him on how to use hotkeys out of the game.

Why you think you should have the note reversed or edited: As we did not disturb anyone, gain any advantage, interact with any players, abuse metacomms in any way, i don't believe simply teaching him how to set up and use hotkeys should be grave enough for a note. We have been warned and will use LOOC in the future, I already taught him how. So i humbly ask you to remove the note from both of us.

Extra Notes: Nothing else.

To specify, which account is yours? You can't appeal on behalf of your friend, they have to put in their own appeal. (if they in fact wish to do so.)

Okay, so I would advise that you look at the Server Rules and pay specific attention to bulletpoint 5.

Communication must happen in-game if both of you are in-game at all times. There can't be any communication outside of that, because we have LOOC for that purpose.

Now if you need to go in-depth about the interface, or controls, or anything else, and let's say you even wanted to do it in VC. If only one of you is in-game, they can be in a VC with someone who is not in-game and stream their screen, the the person who is not in-game can explain whatever they feel like. You can even coordinate your shift like "Hey, we're both gonna hop on and meet up by the SR office in FO then we'll go mining" so long as that communication is done before both of you are in-game.

But once you're both in-game, all out of game communication stops, period, no exceptions.

Frontier Station Wiki

These rules are expected to be read in their entirety.

Right, we both read carefully and will take care in the future.

You can even download a copy of the server binary and host it yourself where you can do anything you'd like.

We do see this quite often where a more experienced person will teach a newer person stuff via a VC/external chat, and they do often say it doesn't affect their play, but at the end of the day, if it didn't affect your play, then how would we have ever known there was outside communication?

I don't know either, as he was standing still 95% of the time...

#

He only moved when he noticed i was crit and that's the only instance where i helped him through something that happened in-game.

#

But yea, we know now. As i said in the post, i did not realize it would be grave enough for a note just to teach him to grab his meds in his belt.

#

Will the note stay?

Yes. The note will remain and I'll be closing this appeal shortly unless you have any further questions.
