I entered crit when fighting a space spider and when revived unable to wake up or move only able to see barely anything

Had this happen to me. Tried relogging, restarting the game and even rebooting my computer. Nothing worked. I couldn't move or see.

It eventually wore off. I think it is just an effect of the spiders toxin. I was under medical care the whole time.

For this case yes just spider bite sleep toxin haha
But there is a very rare ish sleep bug where you can get bugged sleeping for some reason on a bed and cant wake up. Ive had it happen twice and while doing medical shifts ive had it happen to other 3-4 times . I am unsure what causes it but to fix you just have to relog and hit the wakeup button again.
So I imagine its a desync with the server issue possibly.
And think another fix to this state is drag them off the bed and re-bucjle them to said bed and eventually they will wake up after enough times.

as I do remember, its reproduced when your sleep is "interrupted" with outer actions on char. if you sleep while being patched up with topicals, metabolize toxin that provokes action( vommitin for example)

The problem is they cant wake up after the sleep effect has ended, so without outside interaction they become perma-sleeping

Some easy fixes for the actual sleeping bug is to just get picked up and dropped, or put in bed again, go back to sleep manually (yes, even if you're already sleeping) via actions and wake up. Sometimes taking damage also drops the sleep effect, as well as being taken off grid and into no-grav, but both of those can easily be messed up so I do not recommend those methods. At any rate, it requires someone else to know how to go about it.

As Mace said, the bug is that it becomes permanent sometimes. And it varies when that happens too.

Sometimes, it's just "stuck", and can be fixed by another player waking you or dragging you in and out of a chair/bed.

Other times, very rarely, it's SUPER permanent, and the only fix I've found is to clone their character and shove their mind into the new body. I've had this happen to me personally once on Upstream, and I had one on Frontier yesterday morning while they were just sitting on a bench at FO.

When this more permanent sleep bug happens, they're both asleep, and... not. They can't move, they have reduced vision, but they're actually able to local talk as if they were fully awake.

Overall, both versions of the bug are fairly uncommon, and have been in the game for ages. But we're seeing it happen more often since the change that made SSD people fall asleep, and spiders havingnocturne. But it isn't specifically tied to either source. Even just clicking the sleep button manually can, rarely, make you unable to wake.

So I know this got closed with a Won't Fix, since it's more of an upstream issue. But on the off chance it's useful, here's two observations I've had in regards to the dreaded "perma sleep bug" lately.

• It seems to happen much mote often for large characters, such as tall Oni or Sheleg, when they try to sleep in a bed that is next to a wall, fence, or other obstruction. They get "bumped" a bit in the bed, causing the buckle status to flicker a bit. I have personally been sleep bugged three times on my Oni character, and all three times, it was when I got "bumped" by a wall near my bed.

• Server lag may play a factor? I observed one yesterday that coincided perfectly with someone cracking open an ore processor with 30k mats, they started sleeping within a second of that and the sleep bug took effect.

It's definitely not only these things, since it does sometimes just happen with no lag and without buckling being involved, but maybe it'll help narrow things down?

I had it happen to me once with the super permanant and we fixed it by pumping me with noct till it chemically put me to sleep then when it wore off I woke up automatically. The super permanant one is weird because it looks like you are asleep, but you can still talk IC, radio, and LOOC. Despite that you can't move or anything else like you are sleep. The little circle is there, but it's not black and white like when you are asleep.

I had to go as far as restart the game as a felinid

so definitely not bumped

I was being actively healed

Yes, being healed with topicals while sleeping also triggers the bug consistently
