Description
Hoverbikes acting like people do when you are starved of food and of water.
The hoverbike was a flatpack that you spawned in with and before leaving FO it was almost unusable as it was so slow.

Reproduction
Unsure of how to replicate but it might have something to do with shifting down to walk speeds and back
Doesn't always happen and not enough hoverbikes about to test reliably.

I actually got it after sitting on the bike, piloting, then standing back up and after that it was bad again

#

Any idea how to fix it?

i believe its bricked till you get a new one

#

haven't found a fix

#

nor what causes it

What a shame

I think I've found the issue.

I rode my bike up to the shuttle console on one of the busses, it was full speed.

#

After closing the console, I'm moving like a snail

Keys removed on hoverbike and or "dragged it". After that it seems to have gone into slow mode somehow.

I noticed that it suddenly happened to me on an ATV, while I later saw someone riding another one at full speed. Maybe something to do with the recent change in how they move?

The issue seems to be stemming from pulling the hoverbike in a direction

from my testing today it can be easily replicated by pulling the bike

have not tried

#

will do once im back on pc later

can confirm that pulling a hoverbike does break it

#

also verified it myself

For the record this is a bug from upstream remaking the all sliding and movement frication system

#

Its broken the fuck out of the older code, we will need to either rewrite it ourself or see if another fork will

The bike's linear damping is being set to 20. It starts at 0.2.

#

Seems like a pulling issue upstream. The damping is being set but never cleared, not sure why that doesn't affect mob movers.

For comparison, it's like the bike is being slowed about 100x stronger than a ship being parked. (might be off by 5-10x here here but it's still really strong)
