@feral tinsel uploaded a log,

  • OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM, version 21.0.7
  • Fabric 0.18.3 on 1.21.8 using 40 mods

It's a 1.21.10 blueprint and you're in 1.21.8

#

Unfortunately mojang renamed chains to "iron_chains" in 1.21.10 and there's no reverse-dfu so yeah

is there really no better way to let it hard crash?

As I said before, the crash is coming from deep inside Mojang code

#

If I just simply ignore the error, then the entire section will be missing

#

I mean, I guess I could make it not hard crash and just show a warning instead, but I think the suggestion before was to make it silently ignore the missing blocks

is there no way to catch the error and let the user decide which blocks they want to replace the faulty blocks with or would the game only allow replacing a whole subchunk where the faulty block is located?

#

similar to backporting schematics

Not without reimplementing large parts of how minecraft deserializes sections
