#License Enquiry

no it is per person, however one account can buy several licenses in order to manage the entire team in one account
So a 5 person team needs 5 licenses but can have one manager who manages all the licenses, they can be reassigned as well in case someone leaves the team and a new member joins for example
Ah gotcha - thank you for the clarification! 🙌
Can team members perhaps be whitelisted? We've purchased a license under the impression that the team would gain access.
I’ll update the wording but no, commercial users must all have a license
it’s not per team
@past marten
Unfortunately we can’t sell team licenses either due to drastically varying team sizes
As I've done with others, I can give a single 30d whitelist for each person
It's just a team of 3 of us - one of which already has a lifetime purchase
Which isn't allowed, that's for individuals not teams
Anyways, send the 2 other uuids and I'll give them a 30d whitelist
I appreciate the offer for the 30d whitelist for us but unfortunately we cannot accept this as we don't necessarily need it within the next 30 days but would certainly need it in the future.
The wording “allow your whole team to collaborate” stated at the point of purchase is misleading if teams are not allowed or it is just for individuals. We purchased on the basis that our team would be able to use the tools “collaboratively” as advertised, & not just for a 30 day period, as this is something we hope to use in future projects & we do not necessarily need access for the whole team this particular month. We appreciate the gesture though.
We would still like to use the plug-in, but since the product does not have all the features advertised at the point of purchase, we would like to request a partial refund please, as half of the reason we purchased the licence was for the ability to collaborate as advertised. How would we go about requesting this?
I'll need you to provide the name used / transaction id to issue a refund for it
Just to clarify - will this be a full or partial refund? Because we'd ideally still like to have the license for commercial use.
(And I'm assuming this will result in having a revoked license?)
It will be a full refund (at my expense) and the license will be revoked
Okay I will get back to you after speaking to the team shortly!
As stated above, we would still like to use the plug-in, but we paid the full amount for a full commercial license (which by definition is intended for companies, made up of multiple people). If you could look into issuing a partial refund for the lack of multiplayer support rather than a full refund/revoking the license entirely, that would be much appreciated.
So, to be clear, you are asking for me to give you a partial refund, to keep the license, and for me to give you 2 more licenses for free?
No, we were under the impression that we could not get any more licenses for our team (besides a temporary one)
Without paying the full amount for each person
So instead we were going to try to work with only one person having access
The plug-in doesn’t work by itself
It doesn’t do anything except receive data from the client
What do you mean by “still like to use the plugin”?
I'm guessing they meant still like to use Axiom in general
I mean we would still like to be able to use Axiom on a server & for commercial use (or, at least commercial use as per your definition)
Yep on a server but with only one individual being able to use the client on the server to build
To clarify any doubt, this is what you purchased, correct?
Correct!
But a commercial license by nature is intended for companies (ie multiple people)? That is the difference is between “individual” and “commercial” licensing, along with permission to use for profit. There is nothing about the licence being for individuals only, besides “individuals” written in brackets next to the lifetime option, but there’s no elaboration and directly above it says commercial license, which by nature is intended for multiple people.
Yes, plug-ins can be used on servers (ie which allow multiplayer), but the tool itself cannot be advertised as supporting multiplayer and allowing collaboration if multiple people cannot use it. The product you are selling is not in itself allowing collaboration or multiplayer (the server we pay for already does that part), you are just selling the tool in a format that can be used on a multiplayer platform, but only by a single person.
Commercial & individual licenses are essentially opposites, you can’t have an individual commercial license, it’s a direct antithesis/contradiction
We presumed by “individuals”, you were somehow getting at an individual payment or something, because an “individual commercial license” is a contradiction
To begin with, I'll give you a "partial refund" on the Lifetime (Individuals) license you purchased
Sorry for the confusion, but "commercial" in no context implies "intended for companies (ie multiple people)"
Commercial licenses are meant to be used by a company or corporation that is engage in commercial operations, whereas personal licenses are meant to be used by individual people who are engaged in
If we’re talking about use only, then yes, “commercial use” doesn’t necessarily mean a company
I'm not sure where you got that result from, but every other source states otherwise
It simply means that it can be purchased by a company, not that the entire company would have access
Yes, any single person within the organisation???
You answered your own question in this screenshot
Correct, as is the case with the license you purchased
You are able to reassign the license to any single person
Any does not mean every
It does in this context
It means anyone in the company is able to access it
It very very clearly means anyone - a company is its own legal body, so its rights can be exercised by all members of the company who are authorised to act on behalf of the company
The screenshot I sent (jetbrains), has this in their comparison chart:
And you specifically state that your tool supports collaboration - I’m not sure how else that is meant to be read
It is purchased by a company, owned by a company, but the number of users allowed at any given time is the same as the number of purchased licenses
This is the case for almost any piece of software
But we’re not talking about concurrent software users, because we cannot transfer access across accounts?
You can transfer it, yes
Go to https://axiom.moulberry.com/licenses and change the UUID to another person to transfer it to another account
But you specifically state that purchasing the license allows for collaboration, but purchasing your license does not do that, the server we pay for does that
I understand, we will revise the wording on "collaborate with your whole team" to "collaborate with others"
Thanks for understanding! I think it would be clearer to say something like “allow one user at a time to use the tool on multiplayer platforms”
I've changed the license names to clearly state "1 seat"
I've also changed the Lifetime to clearly state "Individual use only (not for teams/companies)"
Great! Best of luck with Axiom & thanks for understanding/cooperating - genuinely just trying to work this out with you!
Even though you purchased the Lifetime (Individuals) license for a company, I'll allow it to stand
If you provide the transaction ID, I'll give a 50% refund. This may trigger an automatic revocation in which case I'll provide the license for free
Sorry, I’m not sure what you mean?
What is "blox stuff" and "usw"
It's part of our content which should be irrelevant for the time being - also the USW did not utilise Axiom for it's creation
I think she’s referring to our YouTube content, but not sure how that is relevant
Just an idea, ignore me
I can send you the transaction ID privately
My direct messages are open
Not sure what the idea was haha?
That if you wanted a whitelist instead of the license, you would not be able to make money from your builds
(which are great btw from what I remember)
Sorry if it sounded too aggressive or smth
For commercial use I usually allow a a 1-time whitelist for 30 days anyways
I see
So that people can test it to see if it works on their server, etc.
Do not send me a friend request. My direct messages are open
Oh I see what you mean. But yeah no, we specifically purchased the commercial license anyway, for that exact reason, as we would of course not profit from using the tool without purchasing the correct license first
I will try changing my settings in that case
