Introduction:

Welcome to Monster Battlegrounds (MBG)! Pick your Monster and defeat your foes in battle!

MBG is a 1 versus 1 fighting game with simple controls and deep mind-games.

Instructions:

Ready To Run!

Controls:

SO... this was a weird one. It can be played with 2 Players on ONE handheld.

BUT IS ALSO 1PLAYER VS CPU EASY/HARD

Player 1:

Dpad/L Analog - Movement-Forwards Towards Enemy Twice Will Dash
L1 - Attack
L2 - Jump/Back A Phase In Character Selection/ Held Down While In Pause To Quit.

Player 2:

ABXY/R Analog - Movement-Forwards Towards Enemy Twice Will Dash
R1 - Attack
R2 - Jump/Back A Phase In Character Selection/ Held Down While In Pause To Quit.

Start- Enables Hazards In Stage Slection.
Select- Pause/Menu (To exit pause, press Select again. To exit Mode while on Pause screen, Press L2/R2. L2/R2 Are ALSO JUMP.)

TO SELECT A MODE IN THE MAIN MENU, YOU USE YOUR ATTACK BUTTONS L1/R1!!!

#

Game Setup:

-You will first Choose Your Stage. You can add hazards(falling rocks and the like) to the game by pressing "Start" on this screen.
While in the Character Select menu, you will make selections using your Attack button (L1/R1).
-First you Select Character.
-Then your Color which is changed by left & Right/Y & A.
-Then you Select Control Options, whether the player is a Human, Easy Bot, or Hard Bot and whether you want jump deactivated on Dpad Up/ X by pressing those buttons. (I recommend not messing with this.)

  • Lastly, Finishing up, press attack once more to confirm the battle.(L1 & R1)

If You Make A Mistake And Want To Go Back To The Previous Character Options, Use L2/R2.

Pressing Forward towards the enemy twice makes you Dash. Down makes you Block, and attack will create a different Move each time depending on what direction you're pressing at that time. Diagonals included. Also while in the Air. HAVE FUN! Play with Someone else as well!

Not bad, could be played with 1 or 2 players
BUT, I would personally set buttons like this:
Player 1:

L1 / A- Attack
L2 / B - Jump/Back A Phase In Character Selection/ Held Down While In Pause To Quit.```
Player 2:
```R Analog - Movement-Forwards Towards Enemy Twice Will Dash
R1 / X - Attack
R2 / Y - Jump/Back A Phase In Character Selection/ Held Down While In Pause To Quit.```
This allows comfortable one player play and decent 2 player play with sticks.
Original setting could be used for as separate .gptk file for no stick devices
✅ muOS on RG35XX H
The way I have it is very thought out. That way even stick-less devices can still have 2 players
#
You expect player 1 to have 2 fingers on A and B and player 2 to have fingers on x and y??
#
That's just crazy! Haha
#
This allows 2 player games for P1 to hold the device with left hand and P2 with their right hand and can play together holding the device
#
They're basically the same thing, you're just making the abxy buttons have dual purposes that are impossible to use with 2 players. I feel they're better used for movement, like a dpad for P2
awesome ready for pr. THANK YOU BINARY
Works on Knulli TrimUI Smart Pro as well, and looks great!
A and B are swapped, which makes player two controls a bit weird, but honestly that's a thing that happens with most ports on Knulli...
@spiral pewter On my PR i always just use a screenshot.png. never a cover. if you have a cover, you use it AND a screenshot. if you're only using 1 png, it is always screenshot.png only.
#
i sommited your fix for comma to . omn itch,io.
#
anythign else?
spiral pewter
#
Okay! Have you fixed the spelling and grammar on the README?
heady isle
#
I have no experience wiht command prompt. all my ports use screenshot.png only. you can confirm wiht @tropic oyster if youd like.
spiral pewter
#
Nah, that's fine. I can see you have successfully PRed ports like this before.
heady isle
#
i found one single grammatical error on controls where i spelled Selection Slection.
#
everything else is spelled correctly.
#
if you see something im not, please point it out to me and i will fix it
spiral pewter
#
There's a whole bunch of inconsistent capitalization. I'll run it through ChatGPT and and then make a suggestion on the PR that you just have to accept
heady isle
#
okay. if you would rather it be nice and pretty haha
#
im fine with that
#
ill accept the commit suggestion when you put it up
