What you are about to do has not been approved by the Vatican. As a young priest, struggle against demons, insane cultists, and your own weakening faith in this pixel horror game inspired by the era of classic 8-bit gaming and the "Satanic Scare" of the 1980s.

Notes:
I've been testing on a RG353vs with ArkOS.
I have complete Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 so far.
I had some issues with ALSA underrunning but updating ArkOS seemed to resolved this.

On September 21, 1986, two priests arrived at the Martin Family home in rural Connecticut to investigate an apparent case of demonic possession. Only two people would leave the house alive.

FAITH is a pixel horror game inspired by the era of classic 8-bit gaming and the "Satanic Scare" of the 1980s. Use your holy crucifix to perform exorcism…

I already owned this so thought I'd test it out, seems to work great on my CubeXX running knulli

Only tested with the steam version. Either of you have a log.txt I can look at?

Every port has a log.txt generated in ports/{portfolder}, please drag and drop it to discord for help.

# manic axle same here, using gog version

The patch at the moment is only removing some steam specific achievement features that were causing crashes. You could comment out the function in "patchfile" that applies the xdelta patch. That might allow the gog version to work.

manic axle
#

nvm

narrow spoke
#

If that doesn't work i can take a look at the gog version tomorrow

manic axle
#

yeah, it didn't work. I was a little lazy and just deleted the whole thing in it and it got farther, but it just kicks me out

so its an error with the installer actually, mismatching the source file. Does this need to be a specific version of the game

#

nvm i scrolled up and saw that others were discussing the same thing and got the fixed download

that did it thank you

love finally getting to play this game where it belongs

Success :>
I revisited this and I think I just got a bad install. I reinstalled the game on my main computer and recopied the files and now it works with my gog copy

Tried running this on RGB10 Max 3 running Rocknix and shortly after it starts the patching process, it causes Rocknix to completely reboot.

Worked fine for my rocknix? Log say anything?

Tested with muOS 2502.0 PIXIE on RG35XX Plus, works alright so far.

I'll check after work.

Sorry I've been AFK for a few days. Anyway, I've finally gotten around to checking the log and here's what it says:

GAMEDIR is set to: /roms/ports/faiththeunholytrinity Removing unnecessary files and folders Applying xdelta patch

I'm assuming that when Rocknix crashed, it happened too suddenly to register in the log.

#

Currently trying it again.

#

Okay, so it works now, so...

I think this is ready for PR

narrow spoke
#

I still need someone to test it out with AmberElec, right?

grizzled star
#

(i assume i can just use the download, and not have to retrieve the files via galaxy?)

grizzled star
#

is it correct that the gog version shouldn't apply an xdelta patch?

grizzled star
#

it seems the g.o.g download version and galaxy data.win have the same checksum (so one could use either). suffice to say, neither will patch. i even tried using xdelta3 manually, but there's a checksum mismatch -- i'm guessing the patch is for the steam file (?) which is different (4cc5cb4516a82420f883abe41168b679)

grizzled star
#

anyhow, whether it is supposed to xdelta-patch or not (the compression part of the patching process is fine), the g.o.g game starts and appears to run fine 👍 🙂

#

btw: the game stretch-fills the screen (doesn't letterbox), which looks fine on a 4:3 display

narrow spoke
#

Sweet. Ya the GOG version shouldn't get xpatch'd. Galaxy should be the same I think? I'll find sometime this weekend to start the PR

narrow spoke
#

PR started

narrow spoke
#

For the PRs, who's responsible for pressing "Resolve Conversation"? Myself after "fixing" the issue? Or the person that left the finding to confirm it was fixed?

When I install the Korean patched data.win, the initial loading screen appears, but the game does not launch and exits. Is there any way to fix this?

#

data.win patched in Korean
md5hash : ccf97ed1fe9df2f0a78723756ce95746

#

If you don't patch Korean, it works normally.

narrow spoke
iron raptor
#

Isn't this the Korean patch for the Steam version?

#

The person who created the Korean patch wrote that it was the Steam version??

narrow spoke
#

Looks like you are using the steam version from the logs. Which is slightly unfortunate. So the steam version needs some extra patching to run on these devices (more details in the ports xDelta Patch Notes if you're curious). And because the Korean patch changes the binary. The checksum changes and xDelta can no longer apply the patch

#

No workaround I'm aware of. Would need someone (probably would be me) to create a generate a patch per language

#

Oh wait. 1 idea

#

Is it possible for you to apply the Korean patch after the portmaster patch?

iron raptor
#

I tried opening it with 7zip after patching Portmaster and putting it in, but the same problem occurred ~

narrow spoke
#

Ok ya probably same reason too, checksum no longer matches so it can't apply the language patch. The only to get that working would be a custom patch specifically for "Korean patched steam version". Or if you had the GOG version you don't really need the xDelta Patch at all since it's just a little extra performance boost. But I don't know if there's language patches for that version

iron raptor
#

The person who made the Korean patch is not updating it now...^^

iron raptor
#

I don't know how to fix it because it outputs Korean by replacing the data.win file.

#

Since there are not many games that support Korean, could you please create a special patch?

narrow spoke
#

No promises but if you give me a link to the Korean patch I might have some free time this weekend to make you a patch file

narrow spoke
#

ah sorry man two issues.

  1. extraction from the zip file fails, but more importantly...
  2. looks like the zip doesn't contain a patch file but a data.win file, and I think that might break rule #1 of this server. So i'm not gonna mess with that unless someone running this server says its fine.

patent zephyr

You might wanna get github desktop as well. It's much easier

patent zephyr
#

Oh you know all the git commands? Bravo.

#

I wish...

narrow spoke
#

nah i'm new to git but been using subversion for about almost a decade, so the learning curve for git isn't too bad

patent zephyr
#

I see.

iron raptor
#

Even if I patch the Korean language using the GOG file, it still crashes. I understand why they don't correct it.

native bison
#

it doesnt work on knulli for me. after the patch completed it didnt launch. so i deleted old files and installed it again. but this time patching completed almost instantly and yes game isnt launching yet.

#

its saying no data.win file found to patch but i uploaded it to assets im sure i double checked
