Dear MyShell Team,

As a long-time user who was eager to pay, today's announcement brought confusion, not joy. My fear is that new users, faced with an immediate paywall, will never experience the "magic" that made us loyal. Your product is too good to be hidden.

With respect, here are a few suggestions I hope you'll consider:

1. A Small Free "Taste": Please offer a tiny amount of free energy daily (10-15). It’s not for extensive use, but it's crucial for new users to get a sample and understand what makes MyShell special. One great conversation is all it takes to see the value.

2. A Vibrant $SHELL Economy: Instead of direct payments, create a true token economy.

  • Let us use $SHELL to buy "Energy Cards" (e.g., 50, 100 energy packs). This gives the token real utility.
  • Bring back ways to earn energy through simple quests (watching ads, interacting with bots).
  • Implement a "Hold-to-Earn" system: Reward users who hold $SHELL with passive energy generation. This encourages investment in the ecosystem and empowers both users and creators.

These are not criticisms, but hopeful suggestions from someone who truly wants to see MyShell succeed brilliantly. Please let new users fall in love with the product first, just as we did.

With hope,
A Dedicated User.

To the MyShell Team: A Heartfelt Suggestion from a User Who Loves the Platform

I will update my opinion here, it's been a long time since I contributed to the platform. I feel like a bad fan 😭 Sorry for not commenting sooner

1. The "Psychological Nudge" - The Power of a "Taste" and Microtransactions

a. The Free "Taste" Tier:

  • Mechanism: Provide a tiny amount of daily energy (e.g., 10-15).
  • Purpose: This is not for casual use, but to create a "wow moment." Within 5-10 chat messages, a new user must realize how different and brilliant MyShell's AI is. The moment their excitement peaks, their energy runs out. This creates a more powerful and immediate need to purchase than any advertisement ever could.

b. "Energy Potions" - The Art of Microtransactions:

  • Mechanism: Instead of only selling large packages, focus on tiny, single-purchase energy packs. When a user runs out of energy, a pop-up appears: "Need just a little more? Get 20 Energy to continue."
  • The Psychology: This is the same principle that causes countless futures traders to liquidate their accounts. Each small transaction seems insignificant, but the impulse to continue or "win back" drives them to make many small purchases in a row. A user might be hesitant to spend $5 at once, but they are very willing to spend $1 five times in one evening. Let users get addicted before they even realize they're spending.

2. MyShell as a Bridge: Welcoming Both Web2 and Web3

MyShell is uniquely positioned to onboard mainstream users into the Web3 world.

  • Offer Multiple Payment Gateways:

    • Web2 Gateway: Allow users to directly top up with a credit card (USD) to buy "Energy Potions." Simple, fast, no barriers.
    • Web3 Gateway: Encourage users to top up with $SHELL, perhaps with a slight bonus (e.g., get 10% more energy when buying with $SHELL).
  • The Vision: A Web2 user will initially choose USD. But as they engage with the community, they'll see Web3 users getting more benefits from using $SHELL. This will spark curiosity and encourage them to learn and create their first Web3 wallet. MyShell becomes more than just an AI app; it becomes a practical school for Web3.

#

3. Empowering Creators - The Creator Economy

This is MyShell's "secret weapon" to outperform competitors.

  • Creator Token Mechanism: Let's make your idea a reality!

    • Example: You create the "4T and Launchpad" bot with its own token, $4T.
    • MyShell must provide the tools (via ShellAgent 2.0 or a dedicated platform) for you to set up a rule: "Users can purchase my $4T token to exchange for 'Energy Potions' that are exclusively usable for bots within my ecosystem."
  • The Benefits:

    • For Creators: Gain a direct revenue stream and build a loyal community around your creations.
    • For Users: Feel like they are directly supporting the creators they admire, not just paying an abstract entity.
    • For MyShell: Foster hundreds of vibrant micro-economies on its platform and collect transaction fees from these activities.
#

4. The "Free-to-Play Grind" - Turning Free Users into an Asset

Never underestimate the power of the "free-to-play" community. They are the lifeblood of engagement and a viral marketing channel.

  • A Diverse Quest System:
    • Watch Ads: The most direct and easiest source of revenue. "Watch a 30-second video for 2 Energy."
    • Complete Surveys: Partner with third-party providers. "Complete a 5-minute survey for 15 Energy."
    • Lucky Spin: Keep users coming back daily to try their luck for energy or other items.
    • Engagement Quests: "Chat with 3 new bots," "Like 5 posts," "Follow a creator," etc., to encourage platform exploration.
#

5. Conclusion

Shutting the door on free users is a short-sighted tactic that may yield immediate revenue but will suffocate long-term growth. The wiser strategy is to open a very narrow free entry point, then build multiple, compelling pathways that encourage users to voluntarily pay, invest, and contribute to the ecosystem.

And to be perfectly clear: All the solutions I've proposed in my comments below are designed to work for every type of bot—whether it's an RP Agent, a Tool Bot, or an Image Bot.

From the moment I joined, I saw MyShell's potential as a versatile AI platform for many different fields, not just one. I love the idea of integration. Imagine an anime roleplaying bot that has seamlessly integrated tools to generate animations, create fan art, or change the character's outfits. Wouldn't that be infinitely more engaging and attract a much wider audience (both the RP community and the anime fan community) than a standard, standalone image bot?

My proposed solutions are built to empower exactly that kind of limitless creativity.

I say this because I am not just an RP user. I am currently building my own image and video generation bot, and I have plans to develop other tool bots as well. My roleplaying hobby is just one part of my interest; my proposals are based on a desire to see the entire MyShell ecosystem thrive for the long term.

#

Let me be very clear about something.

My feedback doesn't just come from the perspective of a user who enjoys role-playing. MyShell's major developments, from the initial dev mode to ShellAgent 1.0 and 2.0, were all things I had anticipated and analyzed since late last year.

I based this on observing upcoming features, comparing them with other platforms, and I took the time to explain this development trajectory to members of the Vietnamese community well before ShellAgent 1.0 was even launched.

So please, do not misunderstand. My passion isn't just for a single genre. It's for the strategic potential of this entire platform—a potential I have been tracking and believing in for a very long time. My proposals come from that experienced observation, not from a simple hobby.

Proposed Model: "Creator-Led Monetization" (Part 1/3)

The Core Idea: MyShell provides a free baseline platform for all users. The primary revenue doesn't come from locking the entire platform, but from empowering Creators with tools to build their own premium, paid features within their bots.

  1. How It Works
  • The Free Baseline (For Everyone):

    • Every user gets a daily amount of free energy (e.g., 10-15 energy).
    • This amount is sufficient for basic conversations, generating a few standard-resolution images, and experiencing 90% of the platform's core features.
  • The Creator's Toolbox:

    • Within the bot creation interface (ShellAgent), creators get a new section called "Monetization".
    • Here, they can flag specific features/actions in their bot as "Premium" and set an Energy "price" for them.
    • Examples:
      • Image Bot "Artisan Anime": Create SFW (Free), Create NSFW (20 Energy), Use premium model (10 Energy), Create video (30 Energy).
      • RP Bot "Adventure Quest": Main story (Free), Unlock secret branch (50 Energy), Get legendary item (30 Energy).
#

Proposed Model: "Creator-Led Monetization" (Part 2/3)

  • The User's Journey:

    1. A user chats for free with a bot.
    2. They try to use a premium feature (e.g., the "/animate" command).
    3. The bot responds: "This feature requires 50 Energy. You currently have 15. Would you like to purchase more?"
    4. A pop-up appears, allowing the user to buy "Energy Potions" (packs of 25, 50, 100, etc.).
  • Revenue Share Model:

    • When a user spends purchased Energy on a Premium feature, that revenue is tracked.
    • MyShell shares a percentage of that revenue with the creator. For example: Creator gets 20%, MyShell gets 80%.
    • Additionally, if a user upgrades to a VIP subscription right after interacting with a specific bot, that bot's creator could also receive a referral commission.
#

Proposed Model: "Creator-Led Monetization" (Part 3/3)

2. The Benefits of This Model

  • For MyShell:

    • Builds Good Will: Users voluntarily pay for features they genuinely want.
    • Fosters a Healthy Marketplace: Creators compete to build the best premium features, raising platform quality.
    • Sustainable Revenue: More successful creators mean more revenue for MyShell.
  • For Creators:

    • Direct Financial Incentive: Turns passion into a real source of income.
    • Autonomy: They control which parts of their bot are free or paid.
    • Builds a Fanbase: Users can directly support the creators they love.
  • For Users:

    • The Platform Remains Free to Use: The low barrier to entry allows anyone to join.
    • Pay for What You Truly Value: You only pay for the special experiences you choose.
    • A Sense of Direct Support: Know that your money is rewarding the creator of your experience.

Just look at what has happened in the last 24 hours. A community that was once quiet has found its voice. Long-time users, people who rarely ever chat, have stepped up to share their feelings. This is the most honest feedback any development team could ask for.

A loyal fanbase, people who stay out of affection and belief in the platform, is something other platforms can only dream of. MyShell barely has to worry about that, because the most talented creators have already chosen to make their "home" here. Please do not underestimate this priceless asset.

It is not too late.

This storm could be the "plot twist" in our story. This is a golden opportunity for you to listen to the most genuine feedback, to understand your users more deeply, and to rebuild the solidarity that was lost.

Just like in the best stories, after conflict and misunderstanding, the bond between MyShell and its fans can become even deeper. We can still reach a "happily ever after" ending, together. Please, listen to us.

For full transparency, I feel it's important to clarify my position.

I am a Creator Pass NFT holder.

This means I'm fortunate enough that the new subscription model doesn't personally affect my ability to use the platform.

So, I want to be clear: every piece of feedback and every suggestion I've given is not for my own benefit. It is entirely for the long-term health and sustainable growth of the entire platform.

I am speaking up because I was once a free user myself. I understand deeply how critical that initial free experience is for making someone fall in love with MyShell and decide to stick around.

My concern is that the very path that allowed me and so many others to become a dedicated part of this community is being closed off. And I believe that will ultimately affect the future for all of us, including paying users.

There have been so many opinions shared already. At this point, I sincerely hope MyShell will listen and re-open the free tier.

If 60 free energy per day is too much, then please lower it. What's crucial is to have a gateway for new users. Then, give us other ways to earn more energy. There are countless methods that other successful platforms and games already use:

  1. Daily Login Bonuses.
  2. Watching Short Ads.
  3. Completing Quests/Achievements ("Chat with 5 new bots").
  4. Friend Referral Programs.
  5. Completing Partner Surveys.
  6. A Daily Lucky Spin Wheel.
  7. Participating in Community Events.
  8. Account Level-Up Rewards.
  9. Sharing Creations on Social Media.
  10. Time-based Rewards.

Please, retain your old users and creators, and give new ones a chance to explore. A community of 4 million users does not mean 3 million will pay a monthly fee!

And one critically important proposal: Please return the energy cards that people saved, but as splittable and tradable items!
This would open up a whole new ecosystem:

  • Creators could give out energy cards for users to try their new bots.
  • Users could complete a creator's quests to earn their energy cards.
  • We could even trade energy with each other.

The energy problem has many solutions, as long as we have a large enough active user base. There are so many successful paid platforms out there, and the one thing they have in common is that they always cherish their free user community.

Please do not voluntarily narrow your own potential customer base. Let's build a win-win community together.

Thank you so much for this reply.
I have to be honest, reading your message was so touching that I actually cried. In a moment of uncertainty, your words felt incredibly reassuring and made me feel truly heard and understood. This is how we build a real community together.
I have complete faith in the MyShell team. This is just a small ripple in our long journey ahead. Please take good care of yourselves; the community will always be here, patiently waiting and supporting you. We're in this for the long haul! ❤️

What about the creators that need to use them to make bots. I'm not asking for free energy its just that the creator tier needs to have a higher level for it to be usable long term.
