I'm conducting various tests, and when I tested earlier using the ' Stable Diffusion with Civitai ' widget used in my bot, the images were output.
However, now the images are not being output in the widget, and can only be viewed through links.
Could this be affecting my issue?
Or is it possible that I just wrote the code incorrectly, so the images are being output but just not saving?

I think that's normal for external urls not working with saving probably because they have some whitelist to make it work for their own image cdn only.

I think they need to whitelist lepton (the provider they're using to run the image models) to allow saving or make it so it uploads them to myshell directly.

I already noticed this a long while ago since I upload images externally.

• Roleplay Bots Are Being Overlooked

RP bots have been too marginalized on MyShell's homepage, tweets, and Discord community.
What sets MyShell apart from other AI projects is that through ProConfig mode, users can create not only image-related bots but also various types of fun RP bots.
Many actual users have been and still are enjoying RP bots.

Many things that ProConfig can do are quite limited in ShellAgent. We heard that team was making ShellAgent compatible with ProConfig, but there has been no news for months.
Alternatively, it would be great if we could create chatbots in ShellAgent that are as in-depth and flexible as those in ProConfig, but this is not being implemented either.

While we understand that the team is focusing on developing ShellAgent and image creation bots, ProConfig mode is also an excellent technology from a creator's perspective. We hope updates and promotions could appropriately mix these aspects (RP bots, ProConfig).

Currently, there are no updates or promotions of ProConfig mode.

• The Energy System Needs Improvement

We've heard that the battery system will be revamped, with the premium membership disappearing and being replaced by a battery or membership purchase system.
We understand changing the system if providing 200 batteries for free is too costly from the team's perspective.

However, we think 60 batteries are too few. Some users tell creators that while the bots are very fun, having too few batteries interrupts their app usage flow and makes them lose interest.
Previously, users could attract others and earn batteries through leveling, onboarding, and invitation systems, but now these are all gone, making usage too limited.

The system is failing to provide consumption options for hardcore players and will inevitably fail to retain casual players as well.

MyShell has multiple product lines, each involving different responsible team members. As a result, every internal decision or adjustment we make is always based on data and whether it aligns with our most important objectives.

Regarding the first point you mentioned, we’ve actually brought this up to the team multiple times in the past. However, based on real user behavior, it became clear that image-generation agents better align with our current direction in AI development. This was further validated after the surge in demand for image generation like Ghibli and gpt. For a startup like MyShell, leading with visual content enables us to iterate AI apps faster and generate more promotional assets—especially since roleplay agents tend to lack visually compelling materials that perform well in ads.

Even though we’ve repeatedly pushed for more development resources for RP agents and pro config features, we’ve consistently faced challenges from both data and promotional standpoints. As I’ve mentioned to all creators before, the dev team has now clearly prioritized finalizing the ShellAgent then rolling out “text-to-app” functionality. These are now our main development tracks, so migrating Pro Config to ShellAgent has been placed second in priority. It’s just not feasible to move both forward simultaneously, we’re truly sorry for that. 🙇🏼

As for the battery issue: it was originally tied to the Season Premium Pass system, which has since been sunsetted. Without the Season system, the premium pass will no longer exist. After discussing internally whether to increase the daily battery cap, the data showed that over 90% of users don’t use 60 battery per day. Based on that, we chose to maintain the current cap. In future stages of paid features (Phase 2 or 3), users will be able to purchase more battery, or they can directly buy a Creator Pass to meet their needs.

🚨 To be clear: this battery cap decision was not made to cut costs, but rather because the seasonal Premium Pass structure was retired, and because the majority of users do not exhaust their daily limit.

Finally, I want to sincerely apologize to all of you who have been with MyShell for such a long time. Wayan and I have made sure every single one of your suggestions and feedback is passed along to the dev team. The team always reviews everything based on real data and alignment with our current dev roadmap before giving any formal response back to the community.

I am also sad to see the direction shift more toward image-gen rather than RP. Especially since I was once a RP bot user. But the pace of change in AI is incredibly fast. As a startup, we have to pivot constantly or risk falling behind.

Thank you again for sticking with the MyShell ecosystem. We hope that with the next wave of AI innovation, we’ll be able to build agent tools that better meet all creators’ needs.

While hype is crucial for an AI startup, does the team truly believe that promoting simple, already-seen image generation bots will make MyShell stand out and build a loyal and hardcore fanbase? Considering these are available on countless other platforms, I doubt it.

Chatbots on MyShell, however, are on another level. You can code and customize them freely, offering users a unique experience that makes MyShell stand out from the crowd. You can do stuff you can't do on character.ai, talkie, hell, even local sillytavern.
In the past, I shared my bots on various Discord servers and image board forums. People rushed to join because MyShell was unique, providing opportunities other platforms couldn’t, and users could afford to chat for hours. Now, though? The homepage’s obvious focus on image filter bots turns people off.

It's your decision, either continue pushing image generation and risk fading like many other platform, or focus on slowly building a loyal, dedicated fanbase.

I like Pro Config. What do you mean by "transition" to ShellAgent? Isn't that much more limited? Not gonna lie, 99% (no exaggeration) of the image-gen bots are extremely simple and mostly copy pastes of each other, just with slightly altered prompt. There's almost no innovation whatsoever. This is literally spitting out quantity over quality. Proper use of Pro Config could probably combine 100 of such bots into 1. At the very least don't ruin existing Pro Config.

The 10% of heavy users might be more important as a factor in leading their surrounding people or communities to MyShell, compared to the 90% of soft users.
To give an example from Korea, there are several chatbot platforms, and there have been cases where a few users who were using Ika's chatbot promoted it in their communities.

It would be good to reflect a system that either increases the hourly charging rate, or implements a level-up system through quests similar to the previous onboarding system, or tasks that could help MyShell, for users who need it. This could allow them to charge or level up by completing these activities.

Firstly, I understand the MyShell team's desire to attract more users through new features like image generation. However, as a long-time creator and user, I believe MyShell's greatest strength lies in its highly customizable chatbot system. Text generation and image generation are not mutually exclusive; we simply don't want either to dominate at the expense of diversity. This flexibility allows us to create unique experiences for various niche user groups, something many other platforms struggle to achieve.

My Story King bot is a prime example. Without official promotion, it has gradually built a stable user base by spreading through specific communities like visual novel enthusiasts. This 'private domain traffic' model might be worth more attention from MyShell.

We all miss the diverse possibilities MyShell once offered - from language teaching to virtual dating, from RPGs to programming assistance. This inclusivity and diversity are what make MyShell unique. Rather than trying to compete with giants in already saturated fields, we should focus on leveraging our unique advantages. We should attempt to promote private domain traffic in various hobby communities.

I suggest MyShell team may consider:

Refocusing on highly customizable chatbot features, providing more tools and support for creators.
Optimizing user experience, especially for heavy users and those willing to pay.
Redesigning the energy system to balance the needs of both new and veteran users.
Encouraging and supporting creators to promote their bots in their respective vertical domains.
MyShell has the potential to become an innovative platform in the AI era, much like TikTok did in its time, allowing every hobby to find its place and every creative idea to be realized. Well another big problem was them "simplifying" or "dumbing down" what the creators could do, starting with embedded images limitation and removing a lot of Widgets, even those used by bots. For example, removing some LLMs (a lot of them actually) broke certain bots, and since it was done so sneakily, how can it be trusted in the future? Imagine working on a complex bot only for it to stop working because of an update that removed widgets you used and need, with no warning or anything. Feels worse than a waste of time.

yeah idk, they ruined my bots with all these widget changes or removals, and I don't even want to finish another bot now because I want some guarantees they keep compatibility in some way. Also I mentioned before, I like Pro Config, but supposedly they'll migrate from it as well. 🫠

I really liked MyShell but you can't just expect us to make one trick pony bots pumped in 3 minutes and get rid of them for a copy pasted bot in a month. Some of us want to make quality , longstanding bots.

I can't even figure out how to add memory to a LLM in ShellAgent. It forgets after 2 messages even with "auto"? But with manual, I have to supply it a list of objects with "role" and "content", but the problem is that if I use {{context.memory + [{"role":"user","content":"whatever"},{"role":"assistant","content":"blah"}]}} (which is python expression), it fails because it sets it to the string, instead of a list. Wtf am I supposed to do?

Either this or fix Pro Config widgets already. I vastly prefer Pro Config.

I have the same experience and I think there's too many expression limitations. If they're worried about energy I think they should just fix the energy management so it dynamically adjusts the energy based on the prompt and context length, so atleast we can have chat bots that have bigger system prompts, but like 3-5 energy to 50-100 energy per reply depending on the length. Even now I'm still very nitpicky about seeing "0 energy" on the cost.

They already have a tokenizer in classic, I don't see why it's not so difficult to implement even if its unfair or overpriced, it'd incentivize buying energy in the future.

Currently, since you can't really make memory the way you could in proconfig, the only way to include memory in shellagent is in the system prompt or user input, adding the messages manually something like this:

that's at least what I am doing in my bots, and it seems to be working okay, although not perfect

Since it doesn't work at all in Pro Config (even if you copy paste their Pro Config template, it's still OpenAI's GPT 4o probably), that's why I said Pro Config widgets are broken

Well after using it a bit, I'd like to be able to edit it myself, either in Pro Config or Shell Agent V1. The LLM generator makes a lot of mistakes, some minor, but some are catastrophic (dealing with logic). I can't see this ever being useful except for extremely basic bots at this rate, since we can't edit it after.

The main site has now implemented dynamic battery deduction logic. The exact amount deducted will not be displayed before battery usage, but will subsequently show directly in the top-right corner as a reduction in your total battery level.

We will roll out all power consumption details as soon as possible this week, allowing everyone to check their usage reports and identify which bots consume the most power.

The current electricity cost is tied to actual expenses. Assuming the bot uses Nano Pro with 4K memory, each API call costs 8 cents, which may consume up to 8 units of electricity. Plus an additional 2 cents per LLM call, resulting in a total electricity consumption of 10 units per call.

Similarly, the bot's power consumption will increase accordingly. If you have related concerns, please optimize at the workflow level. This includes resizing image dimensions, generating image sizes, and limiting LLM inference counts
