Did i misunerstand, how the randomizer BST ranges works in the first place?
I always just assumed that this was a differential range, not a hard limit.
so, when set to 500, wouldn't that mean that when the original mon had a BST of 300 and the randomizer was set to a 500 range, you could get anything with a BST between 0 and 800?
so at 500, even a rattata should be qualified to randomise into arceus, right?
Randomness degree
The randomizer works according to the Pokémon base stats. It replaces every Pokémon by a different Pokémon that falls between the selected stats range.
For example, if a stats range of 50 is chosen for wild Pokémon, a Pokémon like Rattata which has a total base stats of 253, will be randomized by any Pokémon that has a base stats total between 203 and 303.

efectively, the 500 cap should only disqualify a small handful of very low BST pokemon to randomize into the even smaller handful of very highest BST pokemon
Hence the mods existence
