Physical release in Japan

Good morning/day/evening!
It seems that the release date on the Japanese Nintendo store will be December 7th but I can’t seem to find the info on whether this release will be digital only or if both physical and digital copies will be available.
Can someone please help me with this?

We do not currently have details on any release of Fae Farm in Japan/Asia for Nintendo Switch, either digital or physical (PC is available there now). I’m not sure why the store is showing that, I’ll reach out to correct it.

Is this information incorrect then? 😭 I am so sad, we were told a few months back that it would be available to us for “the holidays” so I assumed that it meant December…

That information is not correct, Spike Chunsoft is no longer releasing a Japan/Asia version of the game on Switch. Apologies for the confusion and I’ll follow up to get this removed.

I know this isn’t your fault at all, and thank you for letting me know that was a mistake, but this is extremely disappointing, especially since we have been waiting for this game over get for months and we see the updates and amazing content being released but we can’t enjoy it ourselves and there is no actual release date announced either. I was recommended going through another country’s store but unfortunately that is also not possible since we would need a credit card from said-country and that is not possible. It’s just an overall sal and upsetting situation and I hope that it gets resolved soon, so that we can all enjoy the game on the switch.

Just another question though, because I’m not sure I understood correctly: will the game released on switch in Asia at some point, just not by Spike/Chunsoft, or is the release on Switch Asia just cancelled altogether?

Ah…it appears it was formally cancelled by Spike/Chunsoft. Definitely didn’t see that and the Nintendo Japan Direct made it seem like to was still happening. 💀

Hi folks - just to clarify:

• The Japan + Asia release of Fae Farm for Nintendo Switch only was indeed cancelled by Spike-Chunsoft earlier in their year. You can find their statement here: https://www.spike-chunsoft.co.jp/news/company/27833/
• The PC version of the game continues to be available in these regions.
• We do not currently have any confirmed plans for a future release of the Switch version in these regions (digital or physical). If and when that is planned, we will communicate out on our normal channels.

This is so disappointing, what are we supposed to do then? Buy a computer to get the game? 🥲🥲🥲
I work myself in the Video Game Industry in Japan so I just don’t understand this decision at all, especially for a game like this that is very Switch-appropriate. I guess I’ll never get to play it, it’s just so… I’m really sad, I waited for this game for so long, feels like we’re all being punished.

Or get the game physically even if its from another region. Cartridges are region free on the switch. You don’t need another region’s account to play a cartridge from another region

No we can’t because you need a credit card from the said région to pay, I have tried.

I don’t think you’re aware but the rate conversion with the yen is shit right now so no, I can’t do that because it would be way too expensive. 🙂
