#Re-Used Soundscapes not working?

Title, I copied and renamed a soundscapes file (Used in a previous map) and added it to the soundscapes manifest, It should load and I've done everything, Every other soundscape works except for this new one. Not sure why, I've tried a few previous setups that didn't work and it seems there might even be a new issue with my other map, I won't have to rename everything will I? it wasn't listed as a caveat if it is

  • soundscape file named the same as the map
  • soundscape file named differently so it's always loaded if it's present in the files

right now I'm on the latter and I haven't tested this one map loadout since it takes ages but I will cordon and test some other solutions after this thread is posted

Grand humid change test is the map being tested right now, I'll rename it afterwards since I was dealing with a different overlay issue

you don't need to edit the manifest; just name it soundscapes_<mapname>.txt

thanks a lot though

# worldly briar how did you fix it?

I forgot unfortunately, I think I had it under the wrong name so I double checked all references to it and the filename of the text list and map

#

iirc it had something to do with the name of the map

worldly briar
#

oh okay

#

im trying to create a txt file for mine rn

drowsy fox
#

iirc i just used crowbar or some other tool

#

it's been a hot minute since I've made a soundscape so sorry for how little help I can be

worldly briar
#

its okay

#

can you use compilepal?

drowsy fox
#

I think I tried to use compilepal for something else entirely but I don't think so

#

hold on

#

ok I used XBlah's modding tool to just setup a soundscape, it's a lot easier to use it since the soundscape editor / preview tool is like an all in one deal with it

#

I used the like, latest free version of it iirc later versions are paid

worldly briar
#

i downloaded it

#

so this does the soundscapes for you?

#

and works for gmod?

drowsy fox
#

yeah, you just set it up and use the editor, when you're done in the editor you can just save it as a .txt

worldly briar

i made the manifest what do i do now

#
