okay i did more research and found a guide that says to put the sound file into the hl2 sound.dir pak file

how do i do that

i don't know why your modding the hl2 game if steam does a check and finds strange vpk's it'll replace them with default ones you should mod a mod template like maplabs, that way any custom files you put in it don't get remove if steam does a check
