In art, chiaroscuro is the use of strong contrasts between light and dark, usually bold contrasts affecting a whole composition.
I'm looking for ways to recreate this effect, specifically in a film noir setting where it is used in tandem with black and white lighting. (Think Sin City) This could most probably be done using color correction, which I am aware of, but am looking for a concrete set of values or effects that'd look best for what I'm aiming for. I am open to other ways of achieving this visual effect if they exist, too.
