Why is this happening? There's no blendmodulatetexture or anything like that.

$seamlessscale handling 90 degree corners poorly

south iris
#

Problem is, this area is the only area it's happening in. Rest of the map is fine.

#

These three displacements out of like many

stone plover
#

Yeah, it’s not every corner but in my experience when it happens the only fix is to change the displacement geometry or adjust the base brush

granite bluff
#

it's stretched too much

#

you have to split it up

#

in half should do

south iris
#

damn how crazy

#

that didn't fix it

stone plover
#

Those are very flat displacements I don’t think you need a $seamlessscale material

south iris
#

It was mostly for the rest of the map

#

where I do have some stretched af displacements

stone plover
#

Ah

#

If you’re using hammer++ have you tried changing the face vector around?

south iris
#

I'm gonna try having a non-seamless version for just these displacements

stone plover
#

It’ll take a bit of manual alignment to line the two materials up smoothly

#

You could just sculpt up the edges of the grass so it’s not a 90 degree corner with the wall

south iris
#

They did align but I realized the problem is all over the map so I'm gonna do the sculpting thing

stone plover
#

I think it only happens when the wall is precisely sewn to the floor

#

It tries to patch them together and $seamlessscale ends up applying the texture orthogonally to the face

stone plover
#

Try making the displacements intersect instead of sharing an edge

south iris
#

That's actually what I did, I thought that's what you meant by scultping

stone plover
#

First option is sculpt the displacement geometry to look like this

#

Other option is to prevent the two displacements from patching together altogether like this

#

I forgot to give an update, whoops

#

I fixed it... somehow

#

Well the slope fixed itself, not sure how
