hmm thats strange it does it perfect for me :/
are you making the box to the road size and not the road and the outer wall size ??
ok
When working with 90deg arches like this you usually have to make the initial block twice the size of what you actually want. Also in general stick with EVEN numbers/power of 2
You should try making the arch a perfect square because right now it looks like it’s a tiny bit misaligned, or it might be from the weird grid
Yea try to build on major grid lines. The red hammer grid lines split visleaves when compiled
I didn’t know about the red line thing, does that mean it’s better if I build my map in one of the quadrants rather than in the middle ?
Yea I think the center blue lines make three parallel cuts in all three directions
So build in one of the top view quadrant and you can also do this on side view. Make major floors, ceilings, building and visibility structures on red gridlines to reduce additional cuts.
Very interesting tips right here
Make a box and unalign it and you'll see the visleaf cuts stay relative to the actual red lines on the hammer grid
@ancient thunder I would recommend to make all your basic geometry on 16 units grid minimum, you can do 8 in ^^some^^ cases like some walls
Ah, I see
So yea vis always cuts on red lines and then makes additional cuts inside those red boxes as necessary to match world vertex geometry
If you want the rail vertex points to match the road vertex points and not be on top of the road you have to either make your initial box smaller or larger per your wall unit thickness and the unit offset you want
What I do is for example I want a 256 x 256 big arch and my road is 128 units wide, I go into arch tool and make a 256 x 256 big selection. Then I press enter and for the thickness value I put 64 since it’s half of the value you actually want. The. I press ok and move the arch into place.
Yea. It's hard to describe how to do these things without having experience sitting there and really messing with the arch tool to understand how it works. After that it's pretty intuitive
your window layout is different from mine but you should always make the arch in the window thats named Top , for you its the bottom right one
strange
