#why does this brush have weird lighting?

How do the vislsafs look?
Make a hint and skip wedge to force vis to cut the leaves as you want
remake the brush
why would remaking the brush just suddenly fix it?
i can try, i guess, but i don't see how that would fix it
The brush details in the vfm might be messed up and off grid
shit ur right lmao
Ohh like a hidden face from not merged vertex?
i changed it slightly with the vertex tool and it fixed it's self (in the hammer++ lighting preview at least)
oh
Yea that ain't right you want a triangle cut from a cube not a cube made into a triangle
sorry, i'm really not experienced with hammer 😭
Make a cube and clip it from corner to corner
make a cube, use clipping tool and draw a line across the diagonal
press enter
you now have a triangle
ya ik
alternatively with the vertex tool you can just drag one vertex down into another and press "yes" when it asks if you want to merge vertices
clipping tool is safest option though
Wait till you get lost in inclined/declined, curved and vertex stair land
god dammit
are you compiling with fast vis
nope
it's easier to see with the portalfile
actually this is probably better
Yea those lines look like they're split from the water corner and are affecting the lighting
Copy that wedge piece cover it in skip scale it across the water and hint the two visible faces maybe?
Might change the way that's getting split up
i'm not sure what you mean by that first part
make a hint and skip wedge across the water to see if that affects the slipts. Does that make sense
i don't know what you mean by "skip wedge across the water to see if that affects the slipts" and i tried making a hint but that didn't make a difference
just make it a func_detail
wouldn't that cause a leak though?
right
or inside it
you just want where water touches brush, for the brush to be a detail brush
turning it into a func_detail made the weird lighting even sharper
like that maybe
didn't fix it
maybe lower the water?
i removed the water and it didn't fix it
