What compilers are you using?

#

What game is this for?

This is Mapbase if it is of any help

dense tinsel
#

Yes it does

#

What compilers are you using and what shader is the texture using?

grizzled pumice
#

I think it is just the standard complier that comes with it. Not really sure how to check that. Not sure how to check the shader thingy either 🫢

#

I am a bit of a noob with this

#

I have fixed it. I downloaded the the compile tools again and it is now working. Sorry to trouble you

Do you know what would cause this block to appear black but the others are OK?

#

prop*

Is the origin in side a brush?

grizzled pumice
#

is there a button that I can press to check the origin of the model

#

I sometimes drag it by accident so it is possible lol

#

aha, i clicked on it 3 times and the origin is dead center, so it looks to be ok

dense tinsel
#

is it a static_prop or a dynamic_prop?

grizzled pumice
#

It is a dynamic prop as I wanted to adjust its size to scale better to my level. I have a copy of the same model below it and that lights up OK

#

example in hammer

#

you can use a info_target to sample lighting

grizzled pumice
#

Thanks for your help so far. Are you able to eblorate on how I would use that entity to sample the light? I have just placed it in my level
