#How to hide the edge of the map?

I have an illusion of a "mountain" but obviously as you climb up a building the illusion breaks and all you see behind is a skybox.

I've tried fog, and dustcloud but I can't seem to make it work, and I have no idea how to make it work if I am honest with you!

Anyway I can hide something beyond... 2000 units so players think it's not ending so soon? Thanks!
(and no, I'm not looking for 3d skybox)

I have multiple smaller sections seperated throughout the map with different themes, just this one is all the way open, making it with 3d skybox would ruin the other ones.

maybe make a black to transparent gradient texture

and just have that around the map as like a soft fade out

use the cubemap method to give them all unique 2d sky textures and facade them with a gradient and fog that match each fake sky

You can Propper the terrain and bring it into blender, delete all but the perimeter, then UV map a gradient the same color as your walls/skybox.
