Additions:

  • Mini Boss that patrols with casual mobs
  • Mini Boss gear

Explanation:

Mini Bosses will look identical to the regular mobs they're patrolling with, but will be slightly bigger and have more health.
There will not be any cheats, just slightly more difficulty and only one Mini Boss can spawn per mob cluster
Gear Dropped from Mini Bosses will be identical to what the regular mob drops and will be a much higher rate of dropping.

The Mini Boss gear will also contain a buff specific to the world it was dropped in and be categorized as non-auctionable.
Only while in the world the gear was dropped will the buff be active. This buff could be as simple as an item card.
It could follow the world's direction like extra Shadow Pip Rating in Khrysalis for example.

Reason:

The goal is to give players a fun and incentivizing alternative way to gain gear that helps you progress while you quest.
The purpose of Mini Boss gear being non-auctionable is to prevent players from simply buying a piece that's supposed to be earned.

I like the idea but can't help but think that this would end up being seen as annoying like the Krok and Celestia sets that quickly clog up inventory space.
Unless I missed something that would alleviate this, - tell me if so - then I would like to hear some ways that this gear would be different.

Maybe there should be some difference in the appearance like a subtle shine or visual effect either while the world-specific buff is active or all the time.

We used to have street bosses until they stopped making them after arc 3

Definitely agree with you on the appearance change, that would be very nice to see.

But to help elevate this, the gear could be worth a bit more gold than the regular gear when you quick sell. Other than that I'm not sure how else you could. It's not meant to be something you really farm for, but it is something to be incentized as a good thing to have. Not the best, but not the worst since you're doing something rewarding by fighting a harder enemy.

Any gear that's not the best gear is going to be seen as annoying and clutter when you can sell and buy newer/better gear. Mainly people just farm for the right gear and get bad stuff in the process of doing so too. At least this is my opinion on the matter of course.

I also wanted to add this here since I forgot to exclaim this piece of information. But this gear is not meant to act like a set bonus. Once equipped in the correct world you are in, it will automatically have the buff.

There is no if you equip multiple pieces you get a better set. That type of direction I will let KI handle as I feel that is a touchy subject. Would be cool to see, just don't know if that's what they want.

To me I feel if they wanted to add something like that, they would've put that on the end world gear that you craft or on raid gear. Either way, set bonuses have yet to make an appearance again in a really long time as far as I'm aware.
