For it to work you gotta make a new character then after you make a new character and u skip the tutorial on it the character should automatically drink a Arc 1 Elixir
After it drink the elixir it should be unlocked to all ur characters

Those steps within the last 5 hours make a difference due to when the membership was released
If you’ve done those specific steps after Joel announced free membership, you’ll have to email support again letting them know your account was not included

I see. The stock emails get frustrating. Did you send your 2nd email with the QR code in settings (if able)? It may seem redundant but this gives support a bunch of of backend info that helps assist. They’re not “forgetting about you”, the membership was based off of logs that you were disclosed from for whatever reason, a technical error that they’re looking into. I’d try another email (I’m sure it’s getting tedious and frustrating, I’m sorry), stating again that you did not get free membership due to your Arc 1 pass not working. I’d stick with just the essential information this time, to keep it clear and quick for staff to review

Okay so midnight of Oct 14th makes sense. Your account didn’t make the cutoff of the logged purchases that were granted the membership. It appears they plan on running the report to get more accounts that have purchased again, and grant them membership. You should hopefully be getting your membership at some point today, whenever they post the report has been run again
the cut off was noon of oct 14

Oh no, I am just relaying the information I am Vice President of Product, not a programer, those people are way smarter.
I can say, with the character we got from chimp, it looks like we got a partial fulfilment from sony, and it applied some access passes to him, but not the early ones. So we are trying to add in some protection from the delay that can be on the Sony side so that if the purchase happens and doesn't fully fulfil, we have it auto fix in another cycle later.
But before we do that, we are looking at all the other accounts that have had the issue and trying to see if they all have the same problem or if its occuring in different spots.
Would it be possible to manually give memberships to those here who are faithfully waiting to play the game?
From what I saw the gift box briefly showed up and when I clicked it an error occurred and it never came back up
We will run the script again today to grant memberships to people that we see have the transaction happening but no proper fulfilment,
There were some accounts where PS never reported the purchase, due to PSN being down for a while. We are still working with them on that, as they charged, but no fulfilment came to us. Very small number of people in this situation.

Yeah what crazy is that some of the missions, I have to do it twice . The one that I done Tuesday got somehow duplicated. For the main quest of Colossus Boulevard , I had to do it twice. The first time it let me on that dungeon I showed on the video but the second time it doesn’t let me in

I solved it by uninstalling the game and reinstalling it.
Everyone and their grandmother tried that already.. the rumor is that people had access to some areas that weren’t meant to be included in the pass and people took advantage. now it’s locked off until they fix it for most people
i wish they would at least tell us and take it off the store so nobody buys it while its not working

Its only affecting a small number of us, also they have given out two scripts of membership. If you havent gotten it either you wait for a new script to fix or some of us have a different problem where the script isnt working for everyone

It’s so frustrating how they can enable free membership benefits so easily, as a soft launch, they should’ve enabled it for a week or two to work on these bugs without problems. These type of issues drive players away.

- Colossus is an optional zone, I had to buy it… but I was able to get it once I beat Wizard City, quest comes from Ambrose.
- I was also able to do that quest from the Grizzleheim guy, but I did a bunch of other side quests too so I don’t know what triggered it, anything w xp though, and crafting
- I have to check that if I got the badge bc when I beat Grab Alley I only got underwater hero or something

It says Colossus is included in the Arc 1 pass though? And the only thing Ambrose says is "Have you gone to Grizzleheim yet?" Baldur hasn't given any quests either for the Grizzleheim Intro. And 3 street savior shouldnt be tied to Crab Alley if Crab Alley is pay walled and not included in the game achievements (On PC Crab Alley is tied to Arc 1 but on console I think they left it out on purpose to either get more money or didnt realize their mistake.)

Literally this has been an alarming issue, taking money from people and not making this issue a priority
From what I’ve heard the studio has been running around fighting to fix this, and some problems stem from Sony themselves. Trust me when I say I’m with you that this is a pressing issue, all we can do is trust they are doing all they can. Also they’re just people getting paid by a company, I know I’ve shared my two cents on how they should handle the situation but all we can hope is the issue gets resolved quickly.

I understand there’s a process to troubleshoot… but as a gaming company and business perspective, releasing a scheme they release commonly on another server will at least prevent the pressure from the audience like us.. money isn’t made from trees, and those who’ve spent additional money, like I have, for something that was quoted as a bundle, it’s like almost scamming because of lack communication.
From their engineers who are working on the solution, I respect that and I have faith they’ll fix it.
As from their business and marketing team, compensation shows they care for their audience, otherwise they’re turning away potential customers, which they have already.
they haven’t been able to do that now, why create another bug for them? i’d wait honestly, make another wizard, side quests, there’s a bunch of other games to play too meanwhile besides wizard101, that are free and bug free, like Skate, Fortnite, Goat Simulator (free with PSN)
I full heartedly agree on lack of communication and in my belief lack of compensation. Their compensation is just a bandaid to resolve an underlying issue that they have to solve separately. I’ve spent personally just shy of $100 already and honestly I was seriously considering refunding it all because how they handled the situation. My love for the game is the only thing fueling my patience at this point.

I see your frustration. I think the 2 weeks was fair to those that immediately received it, however it’s much trickier for users still experiencing those issues. However, I don’t work for KI and have never personally had to handle this type of compensation, so I’d be hesitant to speak on whats more fair. However I very much see your point of view

The lack of communication from support directly and the lousy responses received through emails by everyone is what frustrates the community the most.

From one working man to another I do appreciate the extra effort you’ve been putting in for the community. It’s the company that our frustrations are aimed at and sadly you guys take the brunt being on the frontlines communicating with us.
CS is hard work, I worked as in game CS for Everquest way back in 2002. Those people do a ton more than most people think, and they are easy to get upset with, because of the overly professional way they handle things.

I never have issues with Sony about things like this, especially other games. I also understand this is a new platform for KI so we can give them some credit there too. It’s just the staff is experienced with situations like this, which is why the shock of so many bugs is alarming.
It looks like the text on Xbox has it, but Sonys text cuts off. I will get that fixed, but it says if I update the description it can take up to 14 days before its visible.
It also looks like their disclaimer at the bottom of the text field there replaced part of our text.

Yeah, so on the console, click the settings option where you can use your UI settings, and in the bottom you see, Quit, Support, and Close. You click support and it’ll help you.
As for the Arc 1 Issue, it’s ongoing

Same here, I was like “wait a darn second” 😭 I’ve been playing wiz since I was a little kid and have never know KI not to be proactive when it came to bugs. Imagine my shock when nothing was said 😭😂
I mean I remember it wasn’t this bad… they had test realms before their launches, and it wasn’t a full load of players, it was strictly members, and you could report the bugs in an order, and by the time the game launched, it was minimal bugs.
I don’t think the engineers fully thought out the execution of their program. Sure it works, it has the controls, almost everything is accessible from an end users POV, but all the other add ons, it was either not conveyed between the engineers and the marketing, which I could see happening with all the sudden changes we’ve experienced, or a specific department is lacking the quality effort, or may be a brand new staff? I could see that since KI probably had to layoff people over time or the other engineers pursued other opportunities…
It’s a factor of a lot of reasons, we just have to be patient I guess.

@naive warren I can say its not any of the above really, we did all the testing we could for months internally on playstation and xbox. We never encountered any purchasing issues on the playstation side until we went live.

Thanks, its been a long week of saying we are working on it for so many things. But we got a lot done this week.
PlayStation lag is almost completely gone from Tuesdays patch, but some more crashing, we have a fix for that and need to send it to PlayStation on Monday.
Xbox got a new build and is in there cert process, for some crash bugs there.
We got the quarantine stuff patched in today on the server side, and we have been digging into the arc 1 issue. where like 99% of it is happening for the PlayStation players, but its set up the exact same way for Xbox, and its only hit a handful of people there.
New Nintendo build in the works, lets see if they accept this one next week, but its Nintendo so even if we send it out on Monday it will be 10-14 days until we hear back.

Also, I tried using the QR code for support, and it doesn't send me anywhere? It just shows the website it should be going to with my info on it and the part where I should be able to put a description, but it doesn't go to the website 😐
the qr code should open your email client ( what ever one you use on your phone) and then puts a bunch of stuff in that email about your account for us. then you type in your bug and hit send.
Oh, I see. Well, I'm not sure why, but it doesn't send me out of the QR code app. I usually use gmail and it is logged in. I'm not sure if it's an issue on my end or what's going on
I'll give it another try and see what happens
try just using the camera app and see if it shows a link you can click, instead of a qr code reader

its still being worked on, but we did just run the 2 week membership script for accounts where it didn't' apply right again. So if your in game log out and back in to see if you can keep going with membership.

Oh, ok. I did get it to work on the QR code app. It finally popped up with the option to send the information on my gmail, so I just sent in a ticket there. I'm sure it'll be a while either way, but it's worth a shot

But make sure you have a ticket in with the qr code.

Yeah I mentioned it earlier but there’s not much they can do, as they are trying actively. They’ve fixed the lag and the crashing so i’m sure this will be fixed soon.

This is my first time ever as well lmao interesting first impressions but i loved the first 10 levels so far
Its been out 7.5 days, with 2 weekend days there where we had people working over the weekend.
Joel understands our frustration, and as a project lead, this is important to him and he will help as fast as possible, but we got to keep in mind, we’re human, troubleshooting takes time, and the process with Sony is tricky, since Wizard101 isn’t as popular as COD for example, so the process takes a while instead of immediate expediting updates left and right.

log all the way out and back in again close the app all the way, with options close when on the ps home screen.
and what zone are you trying to get into
Dumb question, Is there a particular way to log out? It’s not like PC where you press quit and quit, you can quit to character selection then manually close the app on the console.

The thing that did it for me was just resetting the console. I left it for a couple minutes off. Other than that I just followed the other five steps before and after. Log out, create new character, skip tutorial, check main character, then close app and reopen.
Let me give that a shot, I turned my playstation off and on but i’ll reset and make another character I guess… hope it works

I actually emailed them bc since I got the arc, I paid for 2 zones that are included, which is about 1500 crowns so let’s see if they give that too

From what I remember, the Arc Pass doesn't have Crab Alley included in it as well as a few other areas not included with story quests so it wouldn't work for that. If you're saying you had a membership though, it should be working

Pass is fixed for me at least and it looks like areas are being closed off right now to prevent people from entering places that aren’t included in the pack even though I was able to force my way into crab alley.. seems like things are not really going how they want it to hence all the difficulties
Yeah, I heard that those areas were open for a while when it first started, but it definitely wasn't intended that way. I ended up getting to Colossus Boulevard much later, but I ended up getting crowns outright and just payed for it anyway lol
Well the thing is it’s still happening, I just figured it out today because I just got my pack but I assume people have most likely already tried to finish crab alley or whatever isn’t intended to be in the pack and maximized off of that and got a bunch of loot at this point include them in the bundle as well lol
Bought the arc 1 pass on october 13th, got the issue where it showed up as a gift but I could never actually accept it, and the arc 1 pass never worked. Opened a support ticket on october 15th and support status is “waiting”. Tried restarting, reinstalling, creating a new character and skipping the tutorial, etc. Haven’t gotten the 2 week membership yet either :/

They might have taken it down since they've been having issues with people actually receiving it. They've been trying to get it working again for a while now
I know that in the meantime, they've been talking about doing a 2 week membership for those of us that got it but can't get access to it, but they've been doing it in waves and I'm not sure if it's working for everybody. I don't know the specifics on all of it, I've just been checking here from time to time since I'm waiting on the arc pass myself
The 2 week membership I was granted is very buggy. Keeps getting revoked and I have to reset console and create new characters to keep reinstating the license.

Ouch. I am sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, the game is 15 years old at this point and while I do love it and have fond memories of it, I will say that it has had it's issues overtime. I was really hoping it would've had a better start than this

No, the only tips I’ve heard working so far are:
Make a new wizard, skip tutorial, swap back to original wizard
Restart game
Restart console

There’s so many options that could help them but stubbornness and being cheap is only working against them right now. Just offer a few packs or a special pet or mount to those that got afflicted. It would actually help boost sales because more so than not people who receive said packs have a higher likely hood of going back to buy more themselves.

My two week membership that was granted yesterday is still not working, I got about 3 hours of playtime and poof back to glitch

My compensation is all this headache? Is helping Kingsisle fix their glitches? No that’s called a job and a play tester which I am not in a position of either.
