#Emote Wheel | Question | If you could have expanded functionality for it, what would you want?

swapping gear sets maybe
mount/pet selection
More pages (10)
I think a quick way to use consumables would be nice yeah
actually, instead of quick quest switching, a button to activate quest finder through that menu would be super useful
Custom radial selection so we can add our own to the radial menu, I think once (if) free/open chat comes out it would be nice to link that to it - Otherwise just let us bind any chats from menu chat catagory,
If you're thinking of making it work like quick actions, i think being able to bind the action cards of fishing, gardening etc. freely would be nice.
the teleport cantrips could be interesting. IF
they continue adding world teleport cantrips
Mounts would definitely be cool too, and armor sets
yk what, house teleports could be interesting too?
instead of having to equip then teleport you could have your top houses in the radial menu
(Dagger, key, jewel, spiral)
I’m regarded, I’m gonna mess that up 😭💀
- im out of spells
This one is mainly a joke due to copyright/trademark issues but instead of “you’re a wizard Harry” it could be “you’re a wizard [ insert name of you or other wizards nearby ]
I would KILL for a quick mount/unmount button
Teleports to majid, guild, consumeables i think someone mentioned just for QOL(for consumeable make a confirmation so you don't acidently use?), going through 3 different menus is tedious
Or having the ability to switch between mounts like the ride Pokémon in Sun/Moon but maybe that's a bit ambitious
I stopped using emotes when the menu was taken away from us and the emote wheel was made. My first suggestion would be to give us back the menu. The emote wheel is cumbersome. I never set it up because to configure it with the 25 emotes I have on 12 characters would have required me to put 300 items in spots and make sure they were all the same so I didn't get confused. Frankly that would have taken more time than I spend using emotes in a year so I didn't bother. Maybe have a way to copy the info to everyone's wheel?
Or account wide presets?
I don't really understand the point of a wheel on a computer anyhow, and clicking through multiple pages of it seems slow and cumbersome. I feel like computer users are being made to pretend they are on a console with a much clunkier UI. All my emotes could be on one grid without having to click through several pages of wheels.
There are presets already if your emote wheel is empty
I see that now but there are many that are not on the wheel. And what's with the wheel? It's incredibly clunky. I basically don't see anyone using emotes anymore so I don't think I'm the only one who just decided the new interface was more trouble than it was worth. At the time, it also broke castle magic based on some of those emotes, not sure if that has been fixed. Just disappointing all around. Anyone want to explain to me how bringing up this interface and paging through 5 pages looking for the emote I wanted is faster/easier/more convenient than using the old drop down menu? If I wanted to use an emote, by the time I found it the moment would have long passed.
There was a lot more than just the radial menu that happened when the radial menu was brought in.
We used to run emotes on a bit system, but each time we reach the bit limit we had to increase it more, so part of the initiative was taking emotes off the bit system. They're now objects so we don't need to worry about bit issues. This also means we can do things like drop emotes, sell emotes, craft emotes, and do things any object can do.
The menu chat has a problem though with the objects - the problem is chat runs on the old bit system (just like the castle magic you mentioned).
Each time we added a new emote, someone would need to go into the menu chat and add the emote.
If we were to ever add emotes back to the menu chat, we would need to dynamically add and remove them.
Side note, you mentioned "I feel like computer users are being made to pretend they are on a console" - this confuses me because I have played multiple PC games where the Radial Wheel is standard UI. It's a modern approach to accessing emotes, communication, quick calls. I get that it's a feeling, I am just confused by it.
