Hey KingsIsle,

First off, I want to say this game is one of a kind, and I’m writing this because I care about its future. You’ve built something truly magical, but there are areas that need serious attention if you want the game to thrive. Here’s my feedback:

1. The Grind is Killing the Fun:
The game has become way too grindy. Farming the same bosses hundreds of times for a chance at one piece of gear is exhausting, not fun. It shouldn’t take this much time and effort to get decent rewards. Players love the challenge of earning things, but it should feel rewarding, not like a chore. Please reduce the grind across the board—it’s one of the biggest things turning players away.

2. More Content, Accessible Options:
There needs to be more content, period. We’re talking mounts, gear, and cosmetics—but some of the best items should be purchasable with gold, not just Crowns. Adding more rewards that players can work toward organically (without spending real money) would make the game much more engaging.

3. The Bazaar Update Was a Step Back:
The recent changes to the Bazaar completely ruined what was once a helpful and fun system. It feels like a downgrade instead of a QoL improvement. Please rework it again to bring back the simplicity and functionality we all loved.

4. Spell Animations Desperately Need Updates:
Renovating old spells is long overdue. Spells from earlier arcs feel outdated in terms of animation and pacing. They should look cooler, smoother, and, most importantly, be faster. Waiting through slow animations every fight makes the game feel dated. Please focus on this—it’s something players have wanted for years.

5. Bring Back the Original Magic and Creativity:
The game’s originality is what drew us all in. It’s set in a world of wizardry built around the 7 schools, but that’s starting to feel less prominent. Future worlds need to be magical and creative, like Avalon, Polaris, or Dragonspyre—stories filled with witches, mythical creatures, and wizardly wonder. Novus and Wallaru lack that same magic. Stay true to the game’s roots and focus on stories that truly immerse us.

6. Bring Ravenwood Professors into High-Level Quests:
The professors of Ravenwood are at the heart of the game’s identity. It would be amazing to see them take part in high-level questlines. Quests where we team up with our professors would make the experience feel more connected to the game’s origins and add much-needed nostalgia and charm.

7. Fix PvP and Bring Back Rewards:
PvP has become too complex and far too pay-to-win. Simplify it and make it fun and accessible for everyone again. The old Arena system, with Arena Tickets and exciting rewards, was incredible. Tournaments were one of the best activities in the game—reviving them and bringing back meaningful rewards would reignite the community’s interest in PvP.

8. Cheaper Pricing:
Memberships and Crowns are just too expensive for a lot of players. Lowering the prices would encourage more people to buy in, especially if there’s more content to enjoy.

9. Add More to the Crowns Shop:
The shop needs more mounts, gear, and cosmetics, and some of it should be purchasable with gold. Players love variety, and if you add more accessible options, they’ll be more likely to stick around and spend. The best stuff doesn’t always need to be super expensive or locked behind ridiculous grind walls.

10. Freshen Up Seasonal Events:
Halloween and Christmas events are starting to feel stale. It’s the same thing every year. Adding new quests, decorations, or even small updates to these events would go a long way in keeping things exciting.

*THE MOST IMPORTANT 😗 Listen to Your Community:
Listen to your players. The community knows what works and what doesn’t. Ignoring feedback only pushes people away, and that’s the last thing you want. Engage with us, take suggestions seriously, and show us that our voices matter. That’s how you keep the game flourishing.

As for crowns, is it really a reason to make it hard to obtain by kids and people who can't spend much money on the game? Come on now honestly, at least they should make the crown shop items 40% cheaper, and make a lot more content so that people keep buying the same amounts and spending the same money but they got alot more content, this helps the people enjoy the game more ( which is tremendously beneficial for the game ) and at the same time the company wins more over time!

Wizard city should be free and at bare minimum up to balance school should be free

No I do not agree, ideally!! The first arcshould be free

#

they should not be scared of doing it! because it is an investment !!!!

#

and they should work on that first arc to make it APPEALING!!!

so that people once they hit the paywall they will have so much progress that they wouldn't want to abandon

I'm gonna have a soft disagree about no. 6. Ravenwood professors aren't all that important in the first arc beyond Cyrus, and in the second arc, while there are more professors helping, it's not in their role as professor, it's as members of the council of light. I'm of the opinion that the occasional tie-ins and references we get as of now are perfectly fine as our wizard outgrows Ravenwood and graduates.

It's kind of weird, in my opinion, for us to expect the wizard to maintain the connections from the equivalent of wizarding high school/college so far after graduation.

I thought that the more recent worlds had plenty of originality, creativity, charm, and immersiveness. I think that it's necessary for the storytelling and themes to mature. Overall, the recent story has been fantastic in my opinion.

#

I'm down for an update to the seasonal events; new quests or even spells would be awesome. I also think that Rate my Stitch and its crafting have some great potential for new free to obtain cosmetics

Lore wise we graduated in Polaris ish right? So 2015, and ravenwood is thematically high school? I hope you see where I'm going with this.

Also for your other comment about novus and Wallaru being an amalgamation of random ideas.... I'm not sure why you pointed those out over lemuria? And the stories of novus and wallaru are plenty magical, more modern stories and more mature stories have their places. We just grew up as wizards, handled all the "big baddies of the week", and dealt with an overarching theme of exploitation in arc 4 🤷‍♀️

Arc 1 story locations should be free (so side worlds like grizzleheim and wysteria would still be paywalled) Dance

Arc 1 being extremely wanted is true, it being great for the company is where I'd have to disagree a bit. If it was reasonably profitable then it would've already happened, kingsisle is refreshingly open about the fact that they need to have a financial reason for doing things in their game. I do think arcanum and wiz city should be free because that is where the majority of the spells are trained in the game however

is a fair ask as its kinda the first world as wizard city can be argued as the tutorial

What they have as free currently is definitely a step in right direction

No, in my opinion kingsisle is very reluctant regarding all matters, they're just too scared to make changes. If they make such a change it needs time to reflect on their profits. You can't just make it free and expect an increase in your profits, in fact it's going to cause a decrease. I'll give you an example, let's say 100 new people join the game. In the case of a paywall in cyclops lane, 5 leave before hitting it, 95 hit it. they're still not very familiar with the game, 65 of them leave or maybe more, the rest, 15 keep playing there in the free content for a bit of time, and out of them 8 end up paying to get through it, and the other 15 they pay for it directly. sot that makes 23 who made a payment.
Now in the case of a paywall in celestia or dragonspyre, the 95 players spent a lot more time playing the game, they are familiar a lot more, they witnessed a lot of the game mechanics and what could be learned, once they hit it, a considerably bigger proportion would make a purchase, not just 20%, it might double or triple. and they will be a lot more loyal to the game

You are massively underestimating the amount of people that would stop playing before hitting the new paywall, and would pay zero, instead of paying for a single month of membership and stop playing at the same spot.

Also kingsisle is deffo not reluctant at saying that they are a profit driven company, like every other gaming company, kingsisle is at least open about that fact. In terms of being scared to making changes, I am going to point massively at the fact they JUST CHANGED the Celestia prequest to include introductions to school weaving (A new mechanic altogether), which in turn introduces the player to the wheel and also various mechanics of battle like spell fusion and archmastery.

Also the point that you say people would witness more of the games mechanics is just false. School weaving is accessible after arc 1, enchanting spells is also after arc 1, archmastery is accessible at level 50, which is very late dragonspyre, if not once again after arc 1 has concluded.

For your first point about people hitting the paywall. It is true, but the number of people who will make the purchase would be higher anyway.
Every company is profit driven, this is a general truth, this is not the problem. The problem is balancing between making profits and investing to make more profits on the long run. Investing involves making more content, getting a bigger team for example, making more free content ( in a reasonable extent), moving the paywall to dragonspyre in this case for example. As for Celestia archmastery and stuff, this is not what I meant by mechanics, I just meant that players would love the game more, they would have gotten more familiar with its questing system, the fact that you get a spell quest every now and then, they would have more bit to champ at.

We already reached and exceeded the limits of our teachers' knowledge, though. Unless we're dealing with something specific to a teacher's backstory, it doesn't make sense to include them.

Lydia Greyrose being relevant at the start of Karamelle, for example, was because it was her home world, not because she had new magic to share with us.

There's no reasonable story hook left for us with the main Ravenwood cast. Diego is the last major character from Wizard City to still have story hooks, but given how Valencia feels about us at the end of Arc 4, I imagine it'll be difficult to utilize them effectively.

I just think going to Dragonspyre for free is way too much. I think up to the Marleybone Hub would be a great spot for a paywall instead of the 3 roads. As for everything else stated in the OG post. There's a lot needed to be revised in this game and I truly wish we had an update or even multiple updates focused on that alone instead of coming out with worlds. I guess the issue is relying off players who don't drop their member despite going through updates without content.

I feel like we're at a point where the Ravenwood professor's don't really have anything more to actually teach us. Our wizards end up graduating for a reason. Not only do we end beating one of the most threatening people to the spiral at the time but it shows that we've mastered allot of the things the professor's wanted to teach us. I don't think Makin them come back to teach us something for the sake of doing so is a great idea.

I mean we're learning and even making new spells with the Arcanum scholars who are suppose to be a cut above the rest anyways.

shrewd tiger
# near quail No one mentioned that we did exceed our teacher's knowledge, and it's a fictiona...

The professors don't have the knowledge of Shadow magic. After Khrysalis, where we unlock shadow magic, we graduate and learn more shadow enhanced spells from Arcanum scholars.

And saying "the story can be whatever it wants to be because it's a fictional game" is actually a really bad take. The world should be internally consistent, and it's not crazy to say that we need a reason to involve specific characters in our story.

We have gone on relatively independent adventures, like when we were desperately seeking Lemuria or any number of times throughout Novus or Wallaru. We engage with characters that are important to our goals and what we're doing.

The Ravenwood professors usually aren't relevant anymore because, as I said, most of if not all of their story hooks are used up.

I disagree! I would be psyched if, at the next Ravenwood Academy reunion one of the professors gave me the magical artifact they've been hiding all these years...and asked me to join them on a quest
