Since alot of meta endgame gear has farmable sources (Lightbane, Lambent, Takanobu, etc), Professors Hoard stands out as gear that doesn't have a farmable source, despite some parts of the gears importance in raid strats. Adding a boss ala Takanobu that allows for people to use gold keys to farm this gear would make raids more accessible along with allowing people to play with new gear combos.

Each schools deckathalon rolls around once every literal half year its not a good solution to the gear not having a boss it drops from. Additionally, other packs have had their gear added to methods that don't rely on opening packs/waiting literal months of time, so there's no reason why professors hoard should be gated behind event milestones/deckathalon
Putting prof hoard gear on a gold boss would literally only make the game better for a vast majority of players, allowing people to get gear they need similar to how all the recently updated gold key bosses (+rematches) have functioned
It would also provide another f2p alternative to level 150 gear which is something that nobody farms for atm cuz the current sources are time sinks with minimal payoff

- Decka
- Beastmoon
- Portal of Peril
- Challenge Mode completions
- Some other badge rewards
- Daily Assignments
- Loyalty Store
For example, I have a good 40ish. I know people who have more than 100. Its not a rare thing tbh
