Universal Resist Change

I just realized that I can have universal resist but still not resist Sun, Star, and Moon schools. I feel this is a bit dumb because they are not accounted for. I also think there should be 150/170 slightly upgrades universal resist gear. So heartsteel athame and the zafaria resist gear should have slight upgrades in health, mana, pip chance, etc.

Universal resist works on astral schools

They just don't show up in the stats because no gear directly adds to those stats at all

Also the amount of resist you can already hit in this game exceeds 100% so I don't think there needs to be more resist gear lol

Can confirm as someone who has a meme set that has 106 resist to all schools (107 when I finally finish grinding that library). Also one where I have 140 resist to storm

Well I don’t think it does only because when doing some of the endgame gear farm for Wallaru, my ice with 100% resist took 2.3 damage. Even with pierce, most hits barely pass 500dmg.

I think the resist gear in terms of amount of resist can stay, but increase the health and other stats on gear like Jade or heart steel.

It legitimately does give resist to astral schools. Some enemies simply have very high amounts of damage and pierce which overrides the resist.

Well, it does work on astral schools. If you use empower while at 100 resist with no pierce you'll literally be " immune"

Universal means universal

It applies to all damage except fixed hp removals

Just cuz you take high damage from certain spells while being pierced doesn't change the functionality of how resist works
