People who want to play on steam version of w101 that already have an account should be allowed to log into their account via the steam version. The unofficial way is to add a non-steam game to steam library but having a way to do it without having to go through extra steps to login normally would be tricky for people who don’t know how to.

u cant, you need to go into the files where the normal w101 data is and copy paste it over the steam data
this will allow u to use normal account on steam, but steam accounts are only able to be used on steam as far as im aware

I've been doing the "install the wizard101 client to the steam wiz10 folder" for a while.
After it's installed there, boot the game via steam

But you can't directly buy crowns and membership from Steam.
I've been buying through the site anyways so that really doesn't affect me

so i am locked out of my w101 account after needing to do a factory reset on my pc i have been using the same password to login to my account since its creation i did the above steps prior before the reset i can no longer login to my own account on either steam or web version

When KingsIsle transitioned Wizard101 and Pirate101 to Steam, they had to modify their in-app purchases to abide by Steam's Selling Terms.
Because KingsIsle loves money and is allergic to good ideas, they divided accounts into two separate groups:
- KingsIsle accounts (where they get full cut of profits from purchases)
- Steam accounts (where 30% or a negotiated fee is taken from kingsisle to be listed on Steam store)
Overall the protections against logging into a Kingisle Account thru Steam are very lax, they had to at least try and separate them to abide by Steam Agreements.
You can copy the regular launcher over the Steam launcher to play kingsisle accounts on steam.

Palia was just added to Steam after launching on its own client for months and it has micro transactions.
When you log into Steam Palia for the first time it gives you the option to convert your client account into a Steam account.
KI should have gone this route when adding the game to Steam.

My only problem is I have four W101 accounts. If we go this route, I might be able to only convert one of them
