I have a recording, but I don't have it with me at the moment, and I also want to replicate this, but when fighting a PVE opponent with two schools 3 blades were removed for one school defuffs then my next 2 blades were removed for the other school.

I don't think this is expected it gambits 5 blades (3 main school debuffs and 2 secondary school debuffs) not six thus the secondary school is getting the old logic (Wraith gambits 2 blades).

this is what happens when u fight dual school mobs in pve
it doesn't happen in pvp since you only count as 1 school

so i guess it goes under the radar
i think it bugs out and does a double gambit if the enemy has 2 schools
which is clearly a bug

Can't speak or whether it's intended or not. But personally, I don't think it's an issue. Chromatic effects are based on your school, so if you have multiple school (dual school mobs for example), the effect will happen multiple times. This same functionality can be seen with Keeper of the Flame in the Atavus fight -- it applies both a Fire and a Myth trap because the Monquistan is Fire-Myth.

The PvP thing is more interesting though. I wonder if that's similar to the Minotaur issue a while back, where for some reason if you're a certain school, you only get 2 instead of 3. That one is worth investigating a bit more so Cam can get a patch in
