Instead of having modern guns and turrets and stuff that don’t really fit the theme, we could maybe have cannons that you can use to defend your base instead.
The good old piratey ones with a wooden base and cast iron barrel.

You load what you want to shoot into it* aim, and fire.

** also, cannonball ideas*
We could have a few cannonball options to choose from sorta like how they do it in Sea of Theives:

• Normal (damage on impact, smashes through and damages some hexels)
• Explosive (blows up an area of hexels)
• Cluster Explosive (baby bombs inside the mama bomb)
• Incendiary (basically napalm cannonball)
• Split (like cluster bomb but normal cannonballs instead, like a shotgun round)
• idk suggest me some more 🤷‍♂️

Consider the musket. Literally same time period, and due to long reload, does not fully displace the good ol’ bow n arrow

I know it’d be weird to omit any weapon before 1970 due to this, however, ig we could assume that weapons technology was at a stagnant creakingly slow pace if there was no war or impetus to develop weapons for anything besides hunting. Hence, musket
