Correct me please if I'm wrong, but I got the distinct impression the dev wanted to be anti-minecraft. No diamonds, no iron, no crafting table , no villager trades. No dimensions, no dragon, no bed, no portals, bows and arrows.

I thought the same thing a month ago, but I came to the conclusion that there are too few slots

Besides, the dev doesn't want to make the game the same as Minecraft, so I doubt there will be a card table :p
