Since the retranslation project has indefinitely halted I've started working on applying the existing English translation to the Japanese version of the game, with some adjustments or changes where needed. So far I have all the cutscenes and FMVs done (or presumably done--I still need to actually play through and QC them all but I don't think I've fucked up too bad anywhere), but still need to work on the radio calls and in-game dialogues. There are a lot of files to go through for those so any help would be appreciated and I'll post updates here when noteworthy progress has been made
#MGS3 JP voices, EN sub

It made me wonder, I know move all the Eng subs & texts to Japanese ver. is a huge task. But how about move the JP voice clips to the English ver.? Both achieve the same goal but don't know which method is easier.
I don't think the latter is possible at the moment. And it would only be advantageous sometimes. When characters' mouths aren't onscreen the English dub is a lot looser with voice timing, so you'd end up having subtitles playing when no one is speaking
It gets worse with radio calls too which don't share the same timing at all
