if you swap from the olive drab (edited) to an unedited uniform and swap it back
the face camo will bug
as if the unedited uniforms set a lower height to start the texture
oh and also, maybe it's a bug
but on the Codec screen, some parts of the hair simply won't appear
sending just to kinda show
the hair is as if you're wearing the bandana
so probably there are more lines that need to be edited for codec
it's more visible with zoom, let me try again
it kind of looks like the default bandana hair on the codec
it's weird, maybe yet another thing that the responsible file is in another part

yeah it might be that I changed the wrong things in assets which caused the crash
all I did was load the normal camo in file a, detected, load the vr camo in file b, detected, didn't change anything in the drop down menus, swapped and save

I'll tell you a secret, the last symbol bar are all, in .cmdl and .mdl the 3d models, and in .ctxr and .tri the textures.
The content of the file is the last thing.
But with textures it is better not to do hexadecimal editing and erasing because sometimes it cuts the stage in two halves when moving in first person view.

When you open a file, on the left it's all numbers and letters. And on the right side they are all symbols. So you go to the bottom of the file. And you look on the right for the last column of symbols, because that's where you should start deleting by putting zeros to the left, all the zeros until you get to the bottom of the file. a few days ago I was deleting raikov's hair and snake's bandana.
yes, on my pc, i had to delete two bandana files to make it work. if you put only one edited one, it closes the game.
the sna_item_bdn_long.cmdl and sna_item_bdn_short.cmdl files must be deleted from the inside.

This is very easy, it is only necessary to change the numbering of the pages.txt file, it would be to change the normal face paints for the VR ones. It is a simple exchange of numbers. But it is necessary to exchange one number for the other. You cannot duplicate the same numbers.

@cedar sable I know you liked my methods. Don't forget to put the files of the bandana, which has it deleted inside. That was a bit hard to do because you had to delete them in both files almost at the same time, otherwise the game would crash and close.

I had at that time several discussions with the guy called whitesnoop. Which opened my eyes to the programming of the mgs2 game, and I implemented this to create mgs1 mods. And after seeing everything, including deleting with hexadecimal editing in mgsV, I was one of the few modders who dared to spend hours to delete body areas and design other characters (I did these jobs without knowing, thanks to the influence of heartleseph. And it was from there that I dared to remove all the cartridge cases and other things with hex to the mgs2 game making a perfect model swap, without auxiliary things from the main model... This way the model swap was perfectly clean, with only the uniforms of each character. And finally, I realized that in all the 3d models were practically the same parameters, the same hex edition design. This happens from mgs1 to mgsV. And I imagined it would happen the same with mgs3. Said and done, it's the same. And very similar the options to make model swap. The only drawback, the textures. I call them the cursed textures of metal gear solid. With mgs1 and mgs3 the thing is terrible.
