In terms of the actual mechanic, LocalThunk has said he's not adding multiranks
Also, maybe this is just me, but the description feels AI-generated
no multiranks
yeah ik, i did a bit offgrid, its just a concept overall...
and yes, thats true, but not the idea, but i am not an english native so i generated a better writte verison of myself so everyone can understand it
:( would be dope tho
I see where you're coming from, but your writing is really clear from what I can tell, so I don't think you need to worry about it
alrighty :D thanks for the heads up... i guess i am just a bit too used to ai haha...
and with "multiranks" is this also not possible:
a joker that makes all cards on your hand the same rank (guaranteed five of a kind) but the rank is random and the chip value is halved
Are you saying it converts all played cards to a random rank when you play a hand?
Or are you saying that all cards count as a random rank?
no i thought of "they are just count as the same", but you dont know which rank until you play them
The former would be OK, the latter would be multiranks
ahh so i select random cards but they are converted into the same rank (random), is ok?
Yeah that'd be fine I think
I don't know if it would be a good suggestion but it wouldn't break the multirank rule
it could be a good joker, if you go for fives only, but with the randomness to keep it interesting
i didnt know about the multirole rule, these two where in my mind for a time now...
did he say why no multiroles?
It's mainly because most ways of implementing multiranks are confusing and unintuitive
yeah that makes sense, they likely dont combine very well with other jokers too
They also usually complicate calculations for hands like Straights and Full Houses quite a bit
I wonder if something like this could work for this theming (I'd need feedback from other people to know if it's balanced):
Royal Imposter (Rare)
Played non-face cards give X1.5 Mult when scored if played hand contains at least 1 scoring face card
I think the idea would be cool and would incentivize Straights and Flushes, but it's also a bit wordy so idk
