This idea is a bit in progress, but what I was basically thinking was to make miniboss blinds unique to ante 4 that try to kill you in the middle of the run, here’s one of the ideas

  1. (Undecided name)
First hand scores normally, next hand(s) gain +#% reduced score (stacks)

What do I mean by stacks?
If it was 10% reduced score for the second hand, then the third hand would have 20% reduced score.

  1. The Freeze
All cards in deck are frozen and reverted to their original state

i dont have any thoughts on these boss blinds but the concept of a miniboss instead of -1 discard for blue stake is a cool idea

since you deleted the original message i can't react to the post but i think it's interesting
i'm not sure about the actual execution of the midbosses but i think the idea of them are interesting

I mean alternatively you could add a finisher to ante 4 and add a few more finishers to the pool

Apart from VV they’re not all too bad

#

If anything, I love VL as an ante 4 boss

#

Encourages pivoting in some cases

VL might be better designed in Ante 4 than Ante 8

I do like this more than a simple -1 discard, but I'd have to play it to see if it isn't ridiculously unfair

#

Cerulean Bell is fine enough, same with Violet Vessel & Amber Acorn

#

But verdant could really screw you up in the early antes by forcing you to either spend precious early/mid game dollars or hamper your build

#

Crimson isn't as bad as verdant but most of your power comes from Jokers in the midgame

#

I would also hope this change comes with three more Finisher blinds (coin, sword & shield) but I'm not sure if Thunk is adding more Boss blinds
