Earth was a wasteland. Decades of corruption had left the surface little more than a barren and poisoned wreck. Those left of humanity huddled closely in what remained of the great cities, desperate for a day that might never come, the day that they can be rescued from this world of evil and despair. They took to prayer. For seven days each surviving member of humanity knelt and commended their hearts unto the powers above, each entirely bent around the sole prospect of freedom from their suffering.
It is from this great effort that their salvation was manifest. There, at the edge of space, their rescue emerged from beyond observable reality. Hurtling towards Earth, it plunged towards the centre of this last congregation of mankind, slamming down in the middle of their number with a ground-breaking crash that brought the worshippers near to deafness.
At first, no human dared to approach this interloper. Perfectly spherical in shape, it seemed utterly unlike any work of craftsmanship - totally alien, giving off a strange ethereal quality with the way the firelight stretched completely across its surface. This unreal quality was betrayed by nought but a small panel on the side, on which was mounted a single button.
Only after the sound of its tremendous collision had ceased to resonate around the crowd of onlookers did the next phase occur: it began to produce a strange sound. It was a voice - starting softly but slowly increasing in volume as the dust settled around the device. "9 new jokers...", it whispered. "9 new jokers.... 9 new jokers...." It sounded oddly... urgent?
Taking the hint, one human rose to their feet, still shaking from the shock of its impact, and staggered towards the device. "9. New. Jokers." It was clearer now. The human stepped forwards. "9 New Jokers!" With a wavering hand, they reached for the button. "9 NEW JOKERS!"
With a single motion, the human pressed the button, and...

Look at these fabulous jokers that I will put in the next version of the mod! They're just so... great, aren't they?

True

I liked the sprites

What they'll do?

The one on the left is "Freight Train": it'll deliver an ace and a numbered card of your most numerous suit to your deck when the blind is selected (similar to marble joker).
I'm not totally decided on the right one.
It's called "Joker Zone", and one potential effect that I landed on is that it creates a negative common joker for every 5 common jokers sold. (This joker'd be rare)

I would like to introduce, for the first time in recorded history, Hologram v0.1b!
I definitely did NOT already make it, only to accidentally delete it all!
You can download it from the github! https://github.com/bee-bonnets/hologram
I am incredibly okay with what did not happen!

Changes in v0.1b:

  • New Joker: Freight Train (adds an ace and numbered card of your most numerous suit to deck when blind selected)
  • New Joker: Joker Zone (creates a negative common joker for every 5 common jokers sold)
  • Fixed Joker: Salt Lamp (it no longer crashes the game)
